Almost 9 weeks after its premiere, Bigg Boss 16 welcomed two new wild-card contestants. One was Sreejita De, who was the first contestant to be evicted in the second week, and the second participant was Vikkas Manaktala. Known for acting in TV shows like Left Right Left, Yeh Hai Aashiqui, Ghulaam, Jhansi Ki Rani and many others, he has been a popular face on Indian television.
In an exclusive interview with PeepingMoon.com, Vikkas spoke about signing Bigg Boss 16 after being approached 4-5 times in the past and how Sidharth Shukla played an important role in changing his notion about the reality show.
Excerpts from the interview:
Why did you sign Bigg Boss 16? Were you approached for the show in the past?
Bigg Boss is our country’s biggest reality show with the best host, Salman Khan. There’s no way to say no to this. Yes, I was approached 4-5 times in the past. I thought the show is all about unnecessary fights and arguments. However, Sidharth Shukla changed the notion for me. He was honest, chahe accha dikhe ya bura. Pyaar hai toh hai, nafrat hai toh hai. That’s what connected with the audience. I was convinced to take the plunge because of him.
What are your expectations from Bigg Boss 16?
I am not expecting anything. It is a smart, tricky show and one cannot expect much. That’s the best thing a person could do.
Who is your personal favourite Bigg Boss 16 contestant as a viewer?
My favourite has been Ankit Gupta.
In the history of Bigg Boss, no wildcard entrant has won the trophy. Do you think you’ll be able to change that?
Never say never. I never thought I would do Bigg Boss but here I am. I hope to create history by being the first wild card to win the show.
Who according to you is the strongest, weakest and dark horse?
Shiv Thakare is the strongest, Sumbul Touqeer is the weakest and Ankit Gupta is the dark horse.
