PeepingMoon Exclusive: Shah Rukh Khan-Deepika Padukone's Besharam Rang to not feature in Pathaan screenings in small states, makers convey decision to UP CM Yogi Adityanath

Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone's song Besharam Rang from Pathaan led to outrage across the country. Many politically active groups and citizens criticised the song as well as the makers for making Deepika wear a saffron-coloured swimsuit. While the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) cleared Besharam Rang without editing out the swimsuit scene, the makers of Pathaan are said to be planning to remove the song completely from the film for a few states like Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Madhya Pradesh.

PeepingMoon.com has exclusively learnt from sources that a team from Yash Raj Films had a close-door meeting with Uttar Pradesh's Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath during his visit to Mumbai recently. The team explained to the UP CM that they had no intention to hurt the sentiments of the Hindu community by choosing a saffron-coloured swimsuit for Deepika.

Sources state that Pathaan will get two versions. One for smaller states without Besharam Rang and one for major cities. The team at YRF is still in the process of discussing the fate of the popular yet controversial song.

Pathaan, also starring John Abraham, will release on January 25.
