PeepingMoon Exclusive: Netflix renews Imtiaz Ali and Aaditi Pohankar's She for third season with the possibility of exploring a new story

Netflix is on a roll presently. With an exciting lineup of films and web series, they're promising to make 'Netflix & Chill' an entertaining affair. The OTT giant has multiple projects down the lineup and one of them is the third season of She. Headlined by Aaditi Pohankar, Vijay Varma, Vishwas Kini, Kishore Kumar G and others, the franchise is directed by Arif Ali and created by Imtiaz Ali. After the success of two seasons, the thriller has been renewed for the third part.

PeepingMoon.com has exclusively learnt that the pre-production work on She season 3 has kicked off and the team is expected to get the cameras rolling sometime next year. A source close to the development told that the third season of She could explore a completely new story. However, this doesn't eliminate the possibility of the show being a continuation of the previous season. As of now, the details of the new edition are kept under wraps.

The previous season of the show made the right amount of noise across the globe with its taut and thrilling narrative. Within just two weeks of its release in June 2022, it became the one of most-watched non-English titles of that week.

Aaditi Pohankar, who shot to fame with the She franchise, played the role of Bhumika Pardeshi, a Mumbai Police constable who goes undercover as a sex worker to discover the secrets in the dark alleys of the city's underbelly. She was one of the key highlights of the show and was appreciated for projecting the character with utmost sincerity. With the third season of She, filmmaker Imtiaz Ali returns as the creator. Viacom Motion Pictures will be serving as the producer.

Workwise, Imtiaz is currently focusing on the biopic of the late Punjabi folk singer Amar Singh Chamkila. Tentatively titled Chamkeela, Diljit Dosanjh is playing the titular role whereas Parineeti Chopra will be seen as his on-screen wife. The film is currently on floors.
