PeepingMoon Exclusive: Nani talks about how people's perspective towards him changed when he went from being a clap director and AD to Tollywood's 'Natural Star'


Ghanta Naveen Babu, popularly known by his screen name Nani, has come a long way in his career. Starting off on film sets as a 'clap director', he went on to grow to take over roles like Assistant Director before becoming Tollywood's 'Natural Star' and an idol for millions. Having mapped a long distance, Nani opened up about how people around him changed after attaining success. In an exclusive conversation with PeepingMoon for his upcoming film Dasara, he narrated an incident that is a testament to success. 

Nani told PeepingMoon, "One of the popular TV channels I remember asked me to give a beta cassette and come back. When I was an AD, I went to the channel, I could see that guy and all. He could see me I could see that guy and all I had to do is give it to him and come back. And I am standing there and my job is to give to him. They told him. I went morning at 7’o clock he came and took it at evening 7’o clock. So I am like, the whole day without lunch I was standing there and I thought why is he not coming? He looked at me a couple of times and said, ‘wait.’"

He further added, "So same way 5-6 years down the lane I just went for some promotions, got out of the car and he was the one who was guiding me 'sir lift this way sir', 'this way sir'. And he was saying, orange juice sir? What I am saying is, nothing against him but for me how I felt like how life changes. I have seen this side, so I got these kinds of incidents a lot many more."

Dasara co-starring Keerthy Suresh, Sai Kumar, Samuthirakani, and Zarina Wahab in key roles, is produced by Sudhakar Cherukuri of Sri Lakshmi Venkateswara Creations. The film is all set to release in theaters on March 30, 2023, in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam.
