PeepingMoon Exclusive: Wamiqa Gabbi talks about her mujra in Jubilee, reacts to comparison with Madhuri Dixit from Devdas' Maar Daala

Wamiqa Gabbi is making the right amount of noise with her flawless performance in Vikramaditya Motwane's Jubilee. While the first part has been received well, fans of the actress cannot wait to see her magic unfold in the second half which is streaming on Prime Video from tomorrow. Wamiqa plays the role of Niloufer, a dancer and singer who makes her way into the film industry. Niloufer is introduced with a mujra. It is an enchanting piece, undoubtedly.

Now, impressed by her act, a section of people are calling Wamiqa the next Madhuri Dixit (Maar Daala from Devdas) for performing the dance with grace and finesse. Reacting to the comparisons, Wamiqa told PeepingMoon exclusively, "I was overwhelmed. Jab mujhe mujra mila aur hum shoot karne wale the, mujhe laga hi nahi tha ki aise gaane bhi banenge abhi. Kitne aise gaane bante hai jispe mujra perform ho sake? Itna graceful aur khubsurat gaana kaha milta hai aaj kal? Bas item songs hote hai joh mujhe nahi karna. Mujhe apne ex-boyfriends yaad aa gaye (laughs). Voh gaana hi aisa hai ki aap apne purane pyaar ko yaad karte hai aur voh bhi itne respect ke saath yaad karte ho. I was over the moon when people thought I came close to Madhuri Dixit."

In the interview, Wamiqa told us, "Devdas was my favourite. Main tab VCR lagake main dekhti rehti thi aur jab TV kharab ho gaya, main sirf audio sunti thi. Pura din mere room mein Devdas ka audio chalta tha. Jab mera aur Madhuri Dixit ka photo saamne lagake compare ho raha tha, mujhe samjha hi nahi kaise react karu."

The song titled Vo Tere Mere Ishq Ka is composed by Amit Trivedi. Sunidhi Chauhan is the singer whereas Kausar Munir has written the lyrics.
