Vatsal Sheth and Ishita Dutta will be welcoming a new member to their family this year. The couple confirmed the good news through a social media post in March and since then, fans are eagerly waiting for Mini Ishita/Vatsal's arrival. 

In an exclusive interview with PeepingMoon.com, dad-to-be Vatsal spoke about the idea of parenthood sinking in gradually and whether he plans to take some time off to spend with Ishita and the baby. He further revealed Ajay Devgn, Kajol, Bobby Deol and Sohail Khan were among the first few to learn about Ishita's pregnancy. 

Excerpts from the interview: 

We got to know Ishita gave you a surprise while sharing the news of her pregnancy. How did that moment feel?

Ishita gave me a small box after I went home from a shoot and said it was specifically for me. There was a pregnancy testing kit. I had no idea about what a pregnancy kit looked like. I thought it was a COVID-19 testing kit and it was positive. I then realised it was a pregnancy testing kit. I was speechless upon receiving the news.

Has the idea of fatherhood started bringing change in you as a person?

It is gradually sinking in while we are planning our future. Majorly, the changes are happening to Ishita as she's carrying the baby. Right now, I am taking care of her and maybe once the baby arrives, the changes will come along.

Apart from your family members, which industry friend got to know about the news first?

Industry friends are also like family. Before the world, Ajay Devgn, Kajol, Bobby Deol and Sohail Khan knew about Ishita's pregnancy.

After the baby’s birth, do you wish to take some time off to spend with your family?

Of course, I want to take time out for my family. I wish to spend more time with the baby and Ishita and for that, I'll balance my time. 

In what ways are you pampering Ishita?

It’s simple. I just say yes to everything.

What are you expecting; Mini Vatsal or Mini Ishita?

I think the baby will be a mixture of both.

When you were a child, what was the kind of bond you shared with your parents? Were you scared of your mother or father? What kind of a parent do you think you will be?

I was never scared of my parents because they never hit us. They never scolded us until my brother and I screwed things up. My parents were pretty chilled out and supported us in every possible way. Taking this forward, I will be exactly the same with my child. Ishita and I have already decided that I will be the lenient father and she’ll be the strict mom.
