PeepingMoon Exclusive: Even at the smallest level, people tell us we're not good enough because we're women- Sonakshi Sinha

Sonakshi Sinha's web series, titled Dahaad, is currently streaming on Prime Video. The actress plays the role of Anjali Bhaati, a fearless cop, who tackles various challenges at the workplace due to her gender and caste. In a chat with PeepingMoon.com, Sonakshi spoke about whether there's some connection between her and Anjali Bhaati's journeys. She promptly said that every woman watching Dahaad will relate to her character.

"Somewhere we all will be able to resonate with Anjali because as women, at the smallest level, we must have been told that we're not good enough. Sometimes, people make you feel that since you're not a man, you will not be able to do a particular thing. There are chances that you won't be given a certain opportunity. You will see what happens to Anjali in her profession and how she manoeuvres through it. She doesn't take crap from anyone. I feel it is inspiring to do that. You have to be strong-willed for that. I hope Anjali inspires women out there," Sonakshi told.

Dahaad is directed by Reema Kagti and Ruchika Oberoi. Zoya Akhtar created the series with Reema. The 8-episode series also stars Vijay Varma, Gulshan Devaiah, Sohum Shah and Zoa Morani.
