Nawazuddin Siddiqui's recently released film, titled Afwaah, received a thumbs-up from critics worldwide. Co-starring Bhumi Pednekar, Sharib Hashmi and Sumeet Vyas, the thriller was directed by Sudhir Mishra. Despite being in the limelight for quite some time, Afwaah's box office numbers failed to impress. One of the primary reasons was the lack of shows in theatres. In an exclusive interview with PeepingMoon, Nawazuddin reacted to the unfortunate failure of the film.
Nawazuddin told us, "Mujhe bohot disappointment hua. Bohot calls aaye puchne ke liye shows kaha hai but main kya batau? Unhone shayad 50-60 theatres mein lagaya tha film ko lekin shows odd time pe the. Koi raat ke 11 baje hai koi subah 10 baje. Kahi pe toh sirf 1 show tha. Agar aise tha toh release karni nahi chahiye thi. OTT pe daal dete toh better hota. Mujhe disappointment hua kyunki itni chhoti release se fayda nahi."
He further added, "Afwaah kam theatres mein release hua iska dhakka laga mujhe. Baad mein realise hua ki Afwaah karna meri sabse badi mistake thi aur karni nahi chahiye thi."
