Kubbra Sait is a bundle of talent and energy. With multiple successes for her kitty in the last few years, she is among the most sought-after names in the industry. Recently, she shared the screen space with Kajol in The Trial and received a thumbs-up for her performance.
In an exclusive interview with PeepingMoon, Kubbra spoke about working with Kajol in the series. She told, "For me, it was a dream come true. Someone asked me around 10 years ago about the role I wish I got to play. My first reaction was Anjali from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. Many people dream to work with Kajol, mere liye sacchai ban gayi. She's a livewire and full of energy. Hum bhi peeche nahi hatate na. Aisa lagta hai ki aap akele nahi ho positivity ke army mein."
While Kubbra enjoys a strong fanbase and success in the industry, she had to go through rejections in the initial phase of her career. Talking about dealing with rejections, the actress shared, "I wouldn't have been here agar logon ne na kaha nahi hota toh. Haan se zyada na suni hai isiliye toh aaj ripe huye hai. Agar pehle hi keh dete ki you are great, toh voh curiosity hoti hi nahi ki aur accha kya kar sakte hai."
Dropping some updates on Farzi 2 with Shahid Kapoor, Kubbra shared, "The coming year, I'll reunite with Raj & DK and work with Suparn Varma again. Since I was in Farzi, they will have me in the second season too."
What's that one non-negotiable thing for Kubbra as an actor? She replied, "I don't like when people say, 'Hum samaj badalne ke liye film bana rahe hai, budget hi nahi hai.' 'Hum acchi film bana rahe hai but budget nahi hai.' Yeh dukhdayi hai. Abhi pay parity pe bhi discussion shuru hai. I feel aisi bahot saari cheezein hai joh pehle nahi hoti thi ab ho rahi hai. We still have a long way to go and we will get there."
Speaking about the actors she would have loved to work with, Kubbra credited Amrish Puri and Irrfan for setting a strong foundation for her. "I would have loved to work with Amrish Puri and Irrfan but they aren't with us anymore. When I was doing my foundation course, I remember loving Amrish Puri playing the bad guy in Indiana Jones. He was an incredible actor and would humanise the bad guy so that you liked him too. One thing I have heard is, "Your acting is very natural." I don't know what that means but kuch toh sahi baithta hoga. Yehi log Irrfan sir ko dekhke bolte the. Maza aata tha unko dekhke aur maine unse voh maza lene ki koshish ki hai. Uss ras ka 10% bhi hum mein aa jaye toh acche kalakar ban jaye."
