Rajkumar Hirani must be feeling excited and anxious as the release of his highly-anticipated Shah Rukh Khan starrer Dunki approaches. It is a comedy-drama and has phenomenal inside reports coming from industry people, despite the average response to its trailer. As Dunki hits cinemas in six days, Hirani has started working on a new project that will mark his foray into the OTT sphere.

PeepingMoon.com has exclusively learned that Hirani is venturing into the OTT realm with a Disney+Hotstar series starring Vikrant Massey in the lead. The yet-untitled show revolves around cyber security, with Massey playing the role of a cybercrime expert. Contrary to speculations, Hirani will only produce this series while the directorial responsibility has been entrusted to Amit Satyaveer Singh. He is a renowned ad filmmaker known for directing prominent Paytm ad campaigns and marks his web series debut with this project.

The Hirani series is the first project Massey has signed following the success of Vidhu Vinod Chopra's 12th Fail, which has successfully completed 50 days in theatres and is still going strong with incredibly positive word of mouth. Massey is thrilled and honoured to collaborate with Hirani and will begin shooting for the filmmaker’s maiden web series in mid-January. The project, planned to be shot over a 60-day schedule, marks Massey’s fourth web series after Mirzapur (Amazon Prime Video), Broken But Beautiful (ALTBalaji), and Criminal Justice (Disney+Hotstar).

Looking ahead, Massey has an exciting lineup with four film releases in 2024. He will be seen alongside Taapsee Pannu in Aanand L. Rai’s Phir Aayi Haseen Dillruba, followed by Dinesh Vijan's Sector 36 and Devang Bhavsar’s Blackout. He has also completed shooting for a romantic comedy with South Indian actress Raashi Khanna.
