Wedding bells are about to ring for actor Tanuj Virwani and his ladylove Tanya Jacob. The couple is tying the knot on December 25, 2023, in the presence of family members and friends. As the pre-wedding festivities are kicking off tomorrow, the Inside Edge actor spoke to PeepingMoon about his love story, proposal and his parent's reaction to his decision to start a new chapter in life with Tanya. 

Tanuj and Tanya's love story

Tanuj went back in time and shared his love story with PeepingMoon. The actor said, "Tanya and I met almost 9 years ago. She had come to Mumbai and was already working as a model. This was before Inside Edge released and I was honing my skills as an actor. My friend was making short films and I would collaborate with him. Once, I was looking for an actor for a project and that's when a friend suggested Tanya. When we met, I was dating someone else. We started gravitating towards each other and blended well with our families too. In 2022, I felt the need to have some stability in my life. I felt ready to transition into the next phase of my life. I saw my life partner in Tanya. I spoke to her and sought her consent before taking the discussion forward."

A practical proposal

Instead of doing a filmy proposal, Tanuj opted for a rather practical and memorable ceremony. He shared, "It was quite a practical proposal (laughs). When we exchanged our rings with our family and friends around, that was a day I'll never forget."

Parents' reaction to marriage decision

Tanuj said his mother Rati Agnihotri is fond of Tanya and shares a good bond with her. "My parents (mom Rati and father Anil Virwani) were pleasantly surprised. They're extremely fond of Tanya and have known her well for many years. My mother, particularly, is fond of her. There was no resistance and that was important for me. I'm a family-oriented person. It was important for me to seek approval from my and Tanya's parents," Tanuj stated.

Wedding outfits

Tanuj revealed Tanya's wedding outfit will be a surprise for him! He said, "We've decided to not disclose what we're wearing. That's like a surprise. For the Christmas Ball, I know that she's wearing a white and black gown and I'm wearing a white tuxedo with a black bow. For the pheras and reception, I'll be wearing Raghuvendra Rathore's creations."

Performing to mom Rati's songs at sangeet

Tanuj informed PeepingMoon, "We've planned a sangeet but it's not a conventional one. On December 24, we're doing the Christmas Ball followed by baraat and pheras on December 25. There will be a reception cum sangeet in the evening. We'll be having people dancing in groups, doing stand-up comedy etc. I'm an actor, my wedding has to be entertaining for the guests."

He added, "I'll be dancing at the sangeet. Mom, Tanya and I have prepared a performance on a medley of her (Rati Agnihotri) songs from Ek Duje Ke Liye etc."

Wedding cuisine

The actor shared that the festivities will have a variety of cuisines including Indian, Oriental etc. Tanuj said, "Since it's an Indian wedding, it will have desi food as elders prefer that. On December 24, we have planned something special. We'll be having exotic cocktails, eggnog, mulled wine etc. For the reception, there will be oriental food etc. So, it's a mix of cuisines."

Break to spend time with family

Tanuj said, "I don't plan to resume the very next day. I'll enter the new year with my wife and family at the farmhouse. On January 2, 2024, we're leaving for our honeymoon. I'll be back in a couple of weeks. I had planned a month-long break for the wedding."
