Sidharth Malhotra is gearing up for an exciting and busy 2024 after a disappointing last year (hello, Mission Majnu). The Shershaah actor has two projects lined up this year in Rohit Shetty’s Indian Police Force and Dharma Productions’ Yodha. The Amazon Prime series will premiere on January 19, marking the expansion of Shetty’s cop universe to OTT, while the actioner Yodha is scheduled to release in theatres on March 15. With both his projects shot and ready, Sidharth is now setting up his next slate of films and is in talks with multiple directors and producers, including Junglee Pictures.
PeepingMoon.com has exclusively learned that Sidharth is discussing two projects with Junglee Pictures, the production house known for backing content-driven movies like Talwar, Raazi, Bareilly Ki Barfi, Badhaai Ho, and Doctor G. Both projects are said to be thriller-dramas based on true events and will be directed by renowned filmmakers. “Sidharth and Junglee Pictures have been talking about collaborating for the past few months and are mainly discussing two movies — one directed by Meghna Gulzar and the other by Jeethu Joseph, acclaimed for his blockbuster Malayalam movie franchise, Drishyam. Sid, however, hasn’t signed them yet, as it’s still in the conversation stage. Depending on how the talks go, he might decide to do one of them or ultimately agree to both,” a source close to the development told us.
The Meghna Gulzar film is set against the backdrop of a horrifying true story, continuing her penchant for real-story-based cinema after Talwar, Raazi, Chhapaak, and Sam Bahadur. In contrast, Jeethu Joseph’s film revolves around a valiant, sharp, and quick-witted law enforcement officer who embarks on a journey to fight for truth and bring justice in a high-stakes case at the international level. Both projects are currently in the scripting stage, with an eye toward going into production in 2024.
In addition to Junglee Pictures, Sidharth Malhotra is also in talks with War and Pathaan director Siddharth Anand for an action film under his banner. But that project is also only in the discussion stage at this moment. Sid has signed only one film so far: Dinesh Vijan’s Spider, directed by Dasvi fame Tushar Jalota. The action thriller, co-starring Janhvi Kapoor opposite him, goes on floors this month.
