Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films currently has over a dozen films in various stages of production, spanning different genres and featuring top Bollywood stars such as Akshay Kumar, John Abraham, Vicky Kaushal, Ayushmann Khurrana, Shraddha Kapoor, Vaani Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan, and Rashmika Mandanna, among others. Adding to its extensive lineup, the banner is set to begin production on yet another new movie soon.

Peepingmoon.com has exclusively learned that Maddock Films has set a new love story starring Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi in the lead roles. The plot and other details have currently been shrouded in secrecy, but it's believed to be a quirky romantic drama set in a small town, revolving around a couple caught in an unusual circumstance. Karan Sharma, best known for helming Huma Qureshi’s SonyLIV series, Maharani, will direct this film, marking his second collaboration with Maddock Films after the upcoming Shiddat 2, which also stars Wamiqa Gabbi as the leading lady opposite Sunny Kaushal. 

The yet-untitled project is scheduled to go on floors in a couple of months, once Rajkummar and Wamiqa wrap up their current projects. Rajkummar is presently shooting for Raaj Shaandilyaa’s romantic comedy, Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, while Wamiqa is busy with Jawan director Atlee’s next production, starring Varun Dhawan in the lead. This new film further solidifies Rajkummar’s association with Maddock Films, following projects such as Stree, Made in China, Roohi, Hum Do Hamare Do, and the forthcoming Stree 2. As for Wamiqa, it marks her second film with the banner after Shiddat 2. 

Speaking of the lineup, Rajkummar will next be seen in Tushar Hiranandini’s Srikanth Bolla biopic, set to release on May 10, and will follow that with Dharma Productions’ Mr. and Mrs. Mahi, Stree 2, and the second season of Raj & DK’s Guns & Gulaabs.
