There have lately been several rumours circulating regarding Shah Rukh Khan’s potential collaboration with Tamil filmmaker Lokesh Kanagraj. There are even media reports claiming that SRK is doing an extended cameo role in Kanagraj’s next film with superstar Rajinikanth, dubbed #Thalaivar171. While it would be wonderful to see SRK working with the director behind blockbusters like Kaithi, Master, Vikram, and Leo, it doesn't seem to be happening anytime soon. 

Contrary to the speculations, Shah Rukh Khan is not a part of Lokesh and Rajinikanth’s film. Sure, the superstar is discussing several projects with South Indian directors, and he is keen to explore another pan-India mass action entertainer following Atlee’s Jawan, but as of yet, no such project has even begun to take shape. He is presently committed to only two projects: Sujoy Ghosh’s action thriller, produced by Pathaan director Siddharth Anand, and Yash Raj Films’ Pathaan 2. While the former is currently in pre-production and is likely to go on floors around June or July, the Pathaan sequel is scheduled to commence production around December or January.
