Yash Raj Films is on a launching spree once again. The Aditya Chopra-led banner, renowned for discovering, grooming, and nurturing talents such as Ranveer Singh, Ayushmann Khurrana, Anushka Sharma, Arjun Kapoor, Parineeti Chopra, and Vaani Kapoor, is set to introduce multiple new talents in the coming two years. First up is Aamir Khan’s son, Junaid Khan, who makes his showbiz debut with YRF's Maharaj, releasing on June 14 on Netflix. Following this, YRF will launch Ahaan Panday, nephew of Chunky Panday and cousin of Ananya Panday, in a romantic drama. The banner has now added one more new talent under their roof.
Peepingmoon.com has exclusively learned that Yash Raj Films has tapped Aneet Padda for her big screen launch. The 21-year-old newbie will star opposite Ahaan Panday in Mohit Suri’s untitled young love story. She will play a quintessential YRF heroine in the musical romance, marking her first leading role following her supporting parts in Kajol’s slice-of-life film, Salaam Venky, and Nitya Mehra’s recently released Amazon Prime series, Big Girls Don't Cry. Aneet has also appeared in several TV ads for brands like Amazon, Nescafe, Cadbury, and Paytm.
YRF has reportedly signed her for a three-film deal and is going all out to introduce her as a talent to watch. She is believed to have secured the role after excelling in multiple auditions, positioning herself as YRF's next big discovery. Her co-star, Ahaan Panday, has also been preparing for his movie debut for the last five years and is finally set to start his Bollywood journey after a previously planned debut project with Ajay Devgn failed to materialize several years ago. The film will begin production later this year, aiming for a mid-2025 theatrical release.
Yash Raj Films currently has six projects in various stages of production. Its next release is Siddharth P. Malhotra's Maharaj, starring Junaid Khan, Jaideep Ahlawat, Sharvari, and Shalini Panday, set to premiere on June 14 on Netflix. Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR’s War 2 is currently in production for its Independence Day 2025 release. Alia Bhatt, Sharvari, Bobby Deol, and Anil Kapoor's spy thriller is starting shooting in August, while Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan 2 is in the works to go on floors early next year. On the OTT front, they have Akshay Roy’s Vijay 69, starring Anupam Kher, and Keerthy Suresh and Radhika Apte starrer period thriller series, Akka.
