The Hindi remake of Love Today has found its title, and it's a quirky one. Peepingmoon.com has exclusively learned that the Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor-starrer romantic drama has been titled "Loveyapa," named after a term that can be used to describe the combination of love and siyappa.
Junaid and Khushi play a deeply in-love young couple in this quirky love story, stepping into the roles played by Pradeep Ranganathan and Ivana in the 2022 Tamil original. Secret Superstar and Laal Singh Chadha director Advait Chandan helms this film, while Srishti Behl and Kalpathi S. Aghoram are producing it under their banners, Phantom Studios and AGS Entertainment. Rajesh Nare serves as the cinematographer.
Loveyapa began filming on May 27 and is currently being shot at Mira Road in Mumbai. The film is expected to shoot for two more weeks in order to complete the outdoor scenes before the monsoon arrives. Aamir Khan is apparently actively monitoring the film's development to make sure a high-caliber final product is produced. The movie is a light-hearted drama that explores the chaos that ensues when a couple swaps their phones for a day to test their relationship.
The Love Today remake marks the third movie for both Junaid and Khushi. Aamir’s son is making his Bollywood debut with Yash Raj Films' Maharaj, which is set to premiere on June 14 on Netflix. He will follow that with Ek Din, a remake of the 2016 Thai film One Day, starring opposite Sai Pallavi. Khushi, who's the younger daughter of the late Sridevi and Boney Kapoor, made her acting debut last year with Zoya Akhtar's Netflix adaptation of The Archies. Similar to Junaid, Khushi has also already finished her second film, Naadaniyaan, alongside Saif Ali Khan’s son Ibrahim Ali Khan. Karan Johar's Dharma Productions is producing this romantic comedy, directed by debutant Shauna Gautam.
