Hrithik Roshan, who kicked off 2024 with Siddharth Anand’s Fighter, has been deeply occupied with filming for Yash Raj Films' War 2 this year. The superstar is expected to complete this highly anticipated YRF Spy Universe project by September this year, aiming for its pan-India release on the Independence Day weekend in 2025. As the Ayan Mukherji directorial nears completion, Hrithik has started shopping for his next project, and we have an exciting update on that front.
Peepingmoon.com has exclusively learned that Hrithik Roshan is discussing a potential collaboration with Kabir Khan — a socially conscious commercial filmmaker popularly known for directing Salman Khan blockbusters Ek Tha Tiger and Bajrangi Bhaijaan, John Abraham's critically acclaimed New York, and Ranveer Singh’s sports biopic, 83. “Hrithik and Kabir are discussing several ideas and have met multiple times over the past few months. Talks are at the primary stage right now, but they're developing projects together and are hopeful that they come to fruition. Hrithik usually spends lots of time with his directors before committing to a project, so nothing can be said definitely at this moment, but things have progressed in a positive direction so far,” an industry source informed us.
Although the details of their potential collaboration are currently under wraps, one of the projects Hrithik and Kabir are considering is believed to be a post-apocalyptic thriller. The project is apparently based on a Hollywood movie, for which Hrithik has already secured the adaptation rights. If the project materializes, it will mark another genre-breaking attempt for Hrithik in Hindi cinema, following his exploration of aerial action in Fighter.
Hrithik and Kabir are attempting to collaborate again after their last project failed to materialize seven years ago. In 2017, they were working on a high-octane action romance drama for Sajid Nadiadwala's banner, but the project never took off for reasons unknown. As they discuss this new movie, Hrithik also has Krrish 4 in development. Shamshera fame Karan Malhotra is set to direct this superhero movie that Rakesh Roshan and Siddharth Anand will produce together. While the scripting is complete and Malhotra has already started preparing for it, the shooting timelines for that film are still not clear. Sources say that Hrithik's next film after War 2 will either be Krrish 4 or the film with Kabir Khan. Stay tuned for more updates!
