EXCLUSIVE: Dhanush to romance Animal actress Triptii Dimri in Aanand L Rai’s Tere Ishk Mein

Ranbir Kapoor and Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal has significantly changed Triptii Dimri’s career trajectory. Her small role in last year's second biggest box office blockbuster did for her what her acclaimed movies like Laila Majnu, Bulbbul, and Qala were unable to do—it catapulted her into the spotlight overnight. She has been the talk of the town since then, with all the top filmmakers vying to sign her. Her upcoming projects are a testament to the popularity she's gained since her “Bhabhi 2” act in Animal.

Triptii’s future lineup is only growing bigger as she has bagged one more high-profile project up her sleeve. Peepingmoon.com has exclusively learned that Triptii has now been roped in as the leading lady opposite Tamil superstar Dhanush in Aanand L. Rai's Tere Ishk Mein. The Tanu Weds Manu director has seen Triptii's work and found her to be an ideal choice for this emotionally taxing character opposite Dhanush's angry young man, Shankar, in this A.R. Rahman musical.

Described as a tragic love story set in a similar world as Raanjhanaa, Tere Ishk Mein promises to captivate audiences with its complex storyline filled with romance and varied emotions. The film is finally moving forward, over a year after it was formally announced on Raanjhanaa’s tenth anniversary in June 2023. The production was reportedly delayed due to Dhanush's southern commitments, which he had to complete before heading to North India to concentrate on his fourth Hindi movie. The film is now scheduled to get off the ground in October 2024 and will be filmed primarily in Varanasi and other parts of Uttar Pradesh over a two-month period.

Triptii has secured another exciting project even as she awaits the release of Dharma Productions' Bad Newz with Vicky Kaushal and Ammy Virk. The Anand Tiwari-directed romantic comedy has generated terrific buzz thanks to its hit trailer and chartbuster music and is expected to perform exceptionally well at the box office upon its release on July 19. Following this, Triptii will be seen alongside Rajkummar Rao in Raaj Shaandilyaa's Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video (October 11) and in Anees Bazmee's much-awaited Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 with Kartik Aaryan on the Diwali 2024 weekend. She also has one more love story, Dhadak 2 with Siddhant Chaturvedi, slated for release on November 22. Triptii was apparently also doing Anurag Basu's film with Kartik, but that project has slightly been delayed due to script incompletion.

Meanwhile, Dhanush is currently awaiting the release of his 50th film, Raayan, set to hit theatres on July 26. The gangster drama also marks his second directorial project after 2017’s Pa Pandi. Next, he will be seen alongside Rashmika Mandanna and Nagarjuna Akkineni in Sekhar Kammula’s mythological pan-India film, Kubera. Moreover, Dhanush also has Mari Selvaraj’s next film and the biopic of music maestro Ilaiyaraaja in lineup.
