CONFIRMED: Salman Khan and Atlee team up for a mega two-hero action entertainer; Kamal Haasan in talks for the parallel lead

Months of speculation can now be laid to rest, as Peepingmoon.com can exclusively confirm now that Salman Khan and Atlee are teaming up for a mega-budget, pan-India action entertainer. It's an ambitious, true-blue two-hero project, with Tamil cinema legend Kamal Haasan likely to join Salman in the parallel lead.

“Salman and Atlee have been discussing a possible collaboration since last year. However, momentum picked up rapidly when the Jawan director pitched Salman an idea for a two-hero film. Salman was intrigued by the outline of the story and asked him to develop a full script before furthering their discussions. It all took place roughly three months ago. Cut to a few weeks ago, Atlee narrated the script to Salman, and he found it so compelling that he immediately gave his approval. Salman and Atlee are formally collaborating, and this is going to be a complete madness,” a source close to the development told us.

Atlee is now waiting for Kamal Haasan's approval before kicking off pre-production for this pan-India project. We hear Salman is personally speaking with Haasan to convince him to join, and there might soon be a joint narration with them. Atlee, who delivered Bollywood's biggest box office blockbuster with Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan last year, is orchestrating one of the most significant casting coups in recent times with his next film, and everything seems to be aligning perfectly.

Plot and character details are being shrouded in secrecy right now, but sources familiar with the development describe it as Atlee’s most ambitious and challenging project to date. While the film will be a quintessential Atlee-style mass entertainer with a blend of action, romance, and familial emotions, it presents unique difficulties, not just due to the involvement of the two iconic superstars but also because of the complex and layered storyline. Sources suggest that Atlee is crafting a cinematic experience that audiences will remember for years to come.

The production timelines are not yet locked, but Atlee intends to begin shooting around January 2025. Pre-production is expected to start in October, with plans to shoot a special announcement promo before kicking off the principal photography early next year. Salman will finish A.R. Murugadoss’ Sikandar, while Kamal Haasan will wrap up filming on Thug Life and Indian 3 before joining forces for Atlee's masala potboiler. Furthermore, Salman is set to shoot for a special cameo appearance in Atlee's maiden Hindi production, Baby John. He was previously supposed to shoot for his sequence with Varun Dhawan on August 25, but the shoot has slightly been delayed due to his commitments to Sikandar.
