In July, Peepingmoon.com exclusively revealed that Aditya Dhar has assembled a massive ensemble cast — Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, and Arjun Rampal — for his next espionage action thriller. The film was formally announced a few weeks later, with Akshaye Khanna also joining the formidable cast. Now, we have learned of yet another casting addition ahead of the film’s next production schedule, slated to kick off in Mumbai this month.
Sources close to the development have revealed that Aditya Dhar has roped in Sara Arjun to play the romantic lead opposite Ranveer Singh in this yet-untitled ambitious project. Although her role is said to be relatively small in this male-dominated story, this film marks her transition to a lead heroine after years of being known as a child actress in Hindi and Telugu cinema. She is excited to embark on this new chapter of her career and will join sets in the film's next schedule.
As a child actress, Sara Arjun has featured in movies such as Vikram’s Deiva Thirumagal, Salman Khan’s Jai Ho, and Taapsee Pannu’s Saand Ki Aankh, among others. Most recently, she played the younger version of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s character in Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan. Her casting in Aditya Dhar’s film is seen as a significant step forward in her career, though the noticeable age difference between her and Ranveer Singh—Sara is 20, while Ranveer will turn 40 next year—definitely raises concerns.
Aditya Dhar's film, as we have previously reported, is a fast-paced, mission-based thriller, with Ranveer portraying an intelligence officer on a mission in Pakistan. Akshaye, Madhavan, and Arjun Rampal also play members of the Indian intelligence agencies, while Sanjay Dutt is said to be portraying an antagonist. The film went on floors in July in Thailand and will next be filmed in Mumbai and UAE. The makers are eyeing wrapping it up by January to release in the second half of 2025. Aditya Dhar and Lokesh Dhar produce this film under their banner B62 Studios in partnership with Jio Studios.
