Atlee, Murad Khetani, and Jio Studios are making every effort to generate excitement around their forthcoming action entertainer, Baby John. They first showcased a special 5-minute footage of the film to exhibitors and distributors at Big Cine Expo to a resounding positive response and shortly after launched a character poster introducing Jackie Shroff as the menacing villain. The makers then unveiled an action-packed teaser of the film, which was released digitally just yesterday after screening it in theatres with the prints of Singham Again and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.
Enhancing the excitement further, Atlee and his team have now planned a special promotional song for the film. Peepingmoon.com has exclusively learned that Diljit Dosanjh has been roped in for a high-energy party track featuring the leading stars Varun Dhawan and Keerthy Suresh. Diljit will also feature in the music video, and they will most likely shoot for the song tomorrow, on November 6, in a Mumbai studio. The song is composed by Thaman S and will be choreographed by Shobi Master, promising a vibrant addition to the film’s promotional campaign.
This song marks the first on-screen collaboration between Varun and Diljit before they team up as co-stars in two upcoming films. They are set to play Indian army officers in Sunny Deol’s highly anticipated Border 2 and have also been signed on to star in Anees Bazmee's long-in-the-making No Entry Mein Entry. While the Border sequel goes on floors in the coming few weeks, the No Entry sequel is expected to get off the ground in the first half of 2025.
Baby John is the remake of Atlee's 2016 Tamil hit, Theri, about a former police officer embarking on a mission to protect his daughter from his past enemies. Varun steps into the shoes of Thalapathy Vijay, while Keerthy Suresh and Wamiqa Gabbi reprise the roles originally played by Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Amy Jackson. Salman Khan and Sanya Malhotra also feature in cameo roles in this dramatic action entertainer, directed by Tamil filmmaker A. Kaleeswaran. The film releases in theatres during Christmas on December 25, 2024.
