In a year that saw an 18% drop in the number of streaming originals launched across major OTT platforms, Netflix maintained its momentum through 2024, premiering 21 Hindi titles across various formats. These included 11 feature films, 6 web series, one documentary, two unscripted docu-series, and a talk show. Looking ahead to 2025, the streaming giant is set to elevate its content game further and has already started the year on a high note with the critically-acclaimed crime drama series ‘Black Warrant’.
Today, Netflix India will unveil its 2025 content slate at a talent-packed gala event in Mumbai. While the details of the titles expected to be announced at the “Next On Netflix” event have been kept under wraps (most have been broken EXCLUSIVELY by PeepingMoon.com), it's expected to feature a robust lineup of originals straddling multiple genres featuring top Bollywood actors and crafted by some of Hindi cinema’s finest creators. They are poised to deliver unparalleled entertainment across a spectrum of genres and emotions throughout 2025.
Here’s an exclusive look at some of the titles expected to be announced at the Netflix event today:
Feature Films:
1. Jewel Thief—The Red Sun Chapter:
‘Pathaan’ director Siddharth Anand and Saif Ali Khan are teaming up after a hiatus of 17 years. Siddharth, who has directed Saif in romantic comedies like ‘Salaam Namaste’ and ‘Ta Ra Rum Pum’, however, is only producing this film while ‘Romeo Akbar Walter’ fame Robbie Grewal is directing. It's said to be a heist thriller planned as a franchise and features Jaideep Ahlawat as the antagonist. Netflix is eyeing a Holi weekend premiere for this film. 2. Nadaaniyan
Saif Ali Khan’s son Ibrahim Ali Khan marks his on-screen debut with this young adult romantic drama that captures the magic, madness, and innocence of first love. Ibrahim stars alongside late Sridevi and producer Boney Kapoor’s younger daughter Khushi Kapoor in this Dharmatic Entertainment production. Directed by debutant Shauna Gautam, the film revolves around Pia, a bold and spirited girl from South Delhi, and Arjun, a determined middle-class boy from Noida. 3. Dhoom Dhaam
A wedding night gone wrong sets the stage for this romantic comedy starring Yami Gautam Dhar and Pratik Gandhi. Directed by Rishab Seth, the film releases on Netflix India on February 14.

4. Aap Jaisa Koi
Dharmatic Entertainment's quirky romantic comedy starring R. Madhavan and Fatima Sana Shaikh. Madhavan plays a 40-something virgin who finds love through a dating app with a woman in her early 30s (played by Fatima). Directed by Meenakshi Sundareshwar fame Vivek Soni, the film promises an endearing and humorous take on modern relationships.

5. Imran Khan’s Comeback Film
The chants of “Laut Aao Imran Khan” have been heard loud and clear. The ‘Delhi Belly’ actor is finally making his on-screen comeback with a Netflix film, helmed by his ‘Break Ke Baad’ director Danish Aslam. Bhumi Pednekar plays the leading lady opposite him in what's being described as a dysfunctional romantic dramedy. Imran and Danish also produce this film in partnership with Open Air Films, a content company behind Netflix projects like Leila and Cobalt Blue. Shooting is scheduled to commence in March.

6. Gandhari
The dynamic duo Taapsee Pannu and Kanika Dhillon reunite with Netflix India again after the success of ‘Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba’. ‘Gandhari’ is an action thriller that promises a riveting storyline filled with relentless determination and intense personal stakes. Taapsee plays a fierce mom on a mission.

7. India's First Election
Rahul Dholakia, popularly known for directing Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Raees’, collaborates with Netflix India on a period drama that will narrate the saga of India's First General Election, conducted between October 25, 1951, and February 21, 1952, marking the beginning of democratic governance in the newly independent India. Starring Saif Ali Khan as Sukumar Sen, India’s first Chief Election Commissioner, alongside Pratik Gandhi and Deepak Dobriyal, this Nikkhil Advani production is set to commence filming in April.
8. Parineeti Chopra’s film
Parineeti Chopra makes her post-marriage comeback with a romantic comedy directed by Dhruv Tripathi. Production is underway, and it will premiere on Netflix in mid-2025. She has also signed another Netflix project, but that will unlikely be announced at the Netflix event today, so we're keeping it to ourselves to break it exclusively later.
9. Untitled Konkona Sen Sharma film
Yet another Dharmatic Entertainment project. Konkona Sen Sharma and ‘Lapata Ladies’ breakout star Pratibha Ranta play the leading roles in this relationship drama with comedic undertones. Anubhuti Kashyap, who last directed Ayushmann Khurrana and Rakul Preet in Junglee Pictures' ‘Doctor G’, has helmed it. Shooting is already completed.
10. Rajkummar Rao’s maiden production
Rajkummar Rao, alongside his wife Patralekhaa, launches his production company KAMPA Film with a Netflix project. While details are scarce, the film features Rao in the central role alongside Sanya Malhotra, Seema Pahwa, and Abhishek Banerjee. Vivek Das is directing.
11. Siddhant Chaturvedi’s Film
Netflix India is developing a period action-creature movie with the ‘Gully Boy’ breakthrough star playing the lead role. It's a massive-scale production that could possibly become Netflix India's most expensive feature film to date. Directed by Neha Sharma, the film promises a groundbreaking concept never before explored in Hindi cinema. We hear a top Bollywood superstar has come aboard to produce this film, but we will reveal that later.
12. Inspector Zende
Manoj Bajpayee stars in and as Inspector Zende in this action comedy, directed by Chinmay Mandlekar. Joining him is ‘Rocket Boys’ actor Jim Sarbh in the role of a serial killer. Jay Shewakramani and ‘Adipurush’ director Om Raut are producing it under their production banners Northern Lights Films and Retrophiles Pvt. Ltd. Shooting is underway.
13. Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga 2
Maddock Films’ 2023 heist hijack thriller, ‘Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga’, is getting a sequel, with Yami Gautam and Sunny Kaushal returning to reprise their roles. The sequel will pick up where the first film left off, with Ankit threatening Neha and vowing revenge. Ajay Singh will direct it again.
14. Raat Akeli Hai 2
Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Radhika Apte's 2020 murder mystery has been greenlighted for a sequel. Chitrangda Singh has also joined the cast this time, adding more thrill to the project. Honey Trehan will direct it again from the script written by Smita Singh Khan, who also penned the first part.
WEB SERIES:
15. Dabba Cartel
A riveting crime drama set in the Mumbai suburbs of Thane, ‘Dabba Cartel’ follows five middle-class women whose tiffin service transforms into a high-stakes drug operation. The Excel Entertainment production features an acclaimed ensemble cast, bringing together powerhouses like Shabana Azmi, Gajraj Rao, Jyotika, Nimisha Sajayan, Shalini Pandey, Anjali Anand, Sai Tamhankar, Jisshu Sengupta, Lillete Dubey, and Bhupendra Singh Jadawat. 16. O Saathi Rey
Imtiaz Ali is collaborating with Netflix India once again after last year's fan-favorite ‘Amar Singh Chamkila.’ This time for a romantic drama series starring Arjun Rampal and Aditi Rao Hydari. Imtiaz's brother Sajid Ali (‘Laila Majnu’) will direct it with Imtiaz serving as the writer and showrunner. The show is said to be an emotionally charged drama exploring the emotional turmoil of an extramarital affair.
17. Jet Set Go
Karan Johar steps into long-form storytelling with a Netflix series set against the backdrop of the airline industry. Karan will show run and direct the show along with Collin D’Cunha, who helmed Ananya Panday’s ‘Call Me Bae’ for Amazon Prime last year. Featuring a star-studded female ensemble, the series goes on floors in mid-2025.
18. Rakt Bramhand—The Bloody Kingdom
Following on the heels of the success of ‘Guns & Gulaabs’, Raj & DK and Netflix are now collaborating on a gripping thriller set against the backdrop of a fantastical kingdom with bloody action and spectacular visuals. Aditya Roy Kapur, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Wamiqa Gabbi, and Ali Fazal play the leading roles in this massive-scale, high-concept series, directed by ‘Tumbbad’ fame Rahi Anil Barve.

19.The Royals
Pritish Nandy Communications’ modern-day Indian royalty rom-com series is anchored by the undeniable chemistry between Bhumi Pednekar and Ishaan Khatter. Blending romance, desire, ambition, and the allure of royalty, this series features an ensemble cast, including Sakshi Tanwar, Nora Fatehi, Dino Morea, Milind Soman, Chunky Panday, Vihaan Samat, Kavya Trehan, Sumukhi Suresh, Udit Arora, Lisa Mishra, and Luke Kenny. 20. Operation Safed Sagar
Netflix India is developing a web series based on "Operation Safed Sagar," a pivotal mission conducted by the Indian Air Force (IAF) on the world’s highest battlefield during the 1999 Kargil War between India and Pakistan. Popular web series ‘Asur’ fame Oni Sen has been tapped to direct this project that Sanjay Routray, Sarita Patil, and Dikssha Jyoti Routray will produce under their Matchbox Shots banner. Casting has been kept under wraps.
21. Mandala Murders
Yash Raj Films’ gritty crime thriller series marks the OTT debut for Vaani Kapoor. ‘The War’ actress stars alongside ‘Gullak’ fame Vaibhav Raj Gupta as detectives who are thrust into a dark world where these bone-chilling murders are not just random acts of violence but also part of a sinister plan orchestrated by a century-old secret society. It’s created and directed by ‘Mardaani 2’ fame Gopi Puthran.
22. Stardom
Shah Rukh Khan collaborates with Netflix India for his son Aryan Khan’s debut as a creator and director. Set against the backdrop of the film industry, this multi-genre show promises an unabashed, entertaining ride through the adventures of a charming, ambitious outsider navigating the dazzling yet uncertain world of Bollywood. Starring ‘Kill’ actor Lakshya, Bobby Deol, and Raghav Juyal in the lead roles, this series blends self-aware humor with a high-stakes narrative and promises a host of wicked cameos, blockbuster thrills, and an unforgettable ride into the world of Indian cinema.
23. For Your Eyes Only
Pratik Gandhi, Kritika Kamra, Tillotama Shome, Rajat Kapoor, and Sunny Hinduja star in this espionage thriller series. Plot details are under wraps, but it's written and created by Gaurav Shukla and Bhavesh Mandalia. ‘Scam 1992’ writer Sumit Purohit makes his directorial debut with this project, produced by Bombay Fables.

24. Delhi Crime Season 3
‘Madam Sir’ Vartika Chaturvedi and her relentless team will be back in action soon. The third season of this International Emmy Award-winning series, which promises to be a gripping thriller, delves into a new case that rapidly escalates into a career-defining case for ‘Madam Sir’ and leads to the unmasking of a widespread crime operation. Shefali Shah, Rasika Dugal, and Rajesh Tailang return, reprising their popular roles, while Huma Qureshi joins as the antagonist.

25. Khakee: The Bengal Chapter

Bengali cinema superstars Prosenjit Chatterjee, Jeet, Parambrata Chatterjee, and Saswata Chatterjee, among others, play the lead roles. Chitrangda Singh also stars in this gripping cat-and-mouse game based on a true story.
26. Kohrra Season 2
Shooting was recently wrapped on this brand new season of the popular crime drama series, ‘Kohrra’. Barun Sobti will return to play Garundi, a young police officer focused on doing the best he can on a murky murder investigation while navigating his personal dreams and dilemmas. This season, which also stars Mona Singh, will dive into another murder mystery with family dynamics, interpersonal secrets, and the background of fog-filled Punjab at the helm. The showrunner, producer, and co-creator Sudip Sharma will himself direct it this time along with Faisal Rahman.
27. Rana Naidu Season 2
Rana Naidu, which propelled on-screen father-and-son duo Rana and Naga Naidu into the limelight, promises even more adrenaline-pumping drama in the upcoming season. Adding to the simmering tension and magnetic charisma of the ensemble cast, Arjun Rampal joins the powerhouse pairing of Rana Daggubati and Venkatesh Daggubati in Season 2.
