Bollywood actors Arjun Kapoor and Bhumi Pednekar reunite on-screen in the newly released family entertainer Mere Husband Ki Biwi, which opened to a collection of Rs. 1.75 crore in India on its first day. However, this isn’t their first collaboration. The duo previously worked together on The Lady Killer, a film that faced multiple hurdles even before its theatrical release last year, including budget constraints and disrupted schedules due to unpredictable Weather.
While the team has largely remained tight-lipped about The Lady Killer’s underwhelming box office run and abrupt release, she has now acknowledged its challenging release. In an exclusive chat with PeepingMoon.com, the actress shared her perspective, saying, “There’s only that much you can do. What we can do is really do our best, perform well. And it’s a film, it had a very special place in my heart because it was just that film that required a lot out of us as actors. You know, but life is very long. There’ll be many such opportunities. And you can only control things that you actually have real control over. But what came out of that is this film [Mere Husband Ki Biwi].”
Director Ajay Bahl had previously revealed that The Lady Killer was released in an incomplete state, missing crucial scenes that shaped the romantic and psychological layers of the story. He praised Arjun and Bhumi’s commitment to their roles, emphasizing that the challenges lay beyond their performances.
Now, with Mere Husband Ki Biwi, the duo is back on the big screen, this time in a light-hearted entertainer. The film, helmed by Mudassar Aziz, also stars Rakul Preet Singh and Harsh Gujral.
