EXCLUSIVE: Tamannaah Bhatia and Yo Yo Honey Singh Join Ajay Devgn’s Raid 2 For a Special Dance Number

After successfully conducting what was hailed as the longest raid in Indian history in Raj Kumar Gupta’s ‘Raid’ (2018), Ajay Devgn is returning as IRS Officer Amay Patnaik again to track another high-stakes white-collar crime. The teaser of ‘Raid 2’ was unveiled last week to an overwhelmingly positive response, offering audiences a thrilling glimpse into what the sequel has in store. Adding more hype to its theatrical release on May 1, the makers are now incorporating a special promotional song into the film.

Peepingmoon.com has exclusively learned that Tamannaah Bhatia has been roped in for a special item song in ‘Raid 2.’ Fresh off the success of her chart-topping song "Aaj Ki Raat" from ‘Stree 2,’ the actress will feature alongside Yo Yo Honey Singh in this high-energy dance number. This promotional song, however, will not be integrated into the film’s narrative and is slated to play during the post-credits sequence. Choreographed by Vijay Ganguly—who also choreographed Tamannaah’s "Aaj Ki Raat"—the music video is scheduled to be shot at a Mumbai studio on Thursday and Friday.

Although this song will not feature Ajay and Tamannaah together, they are already collaborating on ‘Mission Mangal’ director Jagan Shakti's ‘Ranger,’ marking their second joint venture following the largely forgettable ‘Himmatwala’ (2013). Tamannaah is expected to join Ajay on the sets of ‘Ranger’ after finishing this promotional song.

‘Raid 2’ promises to surpass the first part in both scale and spectacle, with director Raj Kumar Gupta going all out to craft a gripping mainstream thriller tailored for the big screen. Written by Ritesh Shah, Raj Kumar Gupta, Karan Vyas, and Jaideep Yadav, the sequel focuses on Amay Patnaik as he undertakes his 75th raid, targeting the empire of Dada Bhai, played by Riteish Deshmukh. The ensemble cast also includes Vaani Kapoor, Rajat Kapoor, Supriya Pathak, Amit Sial, and Yashpal Sharma. Additionally, Saurabh Shukla returns as the fan-favorite Tauji, the formidable Don of Sitagarh from the original film.

Produced by Panorama Studios and T-Series, ‘Raid 2’ releases in theatres on May 1, 2025, coinciding with International Labour Day and Maharashtra Day.
