Peeping Moon Exclusive : Arshad Warsi joins Shah Rukh Khan in ‘King’; Siddharth Anand assembling ensemble cast

Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘King’ has an exciting addition to its cast. Director Siddharth Anand has brought Arshad Warsi on board to play a prominent role in this action entertainer produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix Productions, PeepingMoon.com has exclusively learned.

Details about Arshad’s character are under wraps, but his casting has further elevated the anticipation for this film which already boasts a stellar ensemble including SRK, Suhana Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, and Abhay Verma. Deepika Padukone also plays an extended cameo, supposedly as Suhana’s mother and SRK's former lover, in the film. Siddharth Anand was unavailable to confirm Arshad’s addition.

SRK and Arshad have long expressed admiration for each other and even briefly shared the screen in the 2005 romantic drama ‘Kuchh Meetha Ho Jaye’, where Shah Rukh appeared in a cameo. ‘King’ will mark their first collaboration as co-stars nearly two decades later. In addition to Arshad, the makers are also said to be in talks with Jaideep Ahlawat for a crucial role, but the status of his potential casting remains unconfirmed.

As we previously reported, ‘King’ has echoes of the Bobby Deol-Rani Mukherji 2000 action thriller ‘Bichhoo,’ which itself was an unofficial remake of the 1994 French film, ‘Léon: The Professional’ (1994). The film features Shah Rukh as a seasoned assassin who embarks on a vengeful journey alongside Suhana Khan’s character after a devastating tragedy upends her life.

Touted as a quintessential Siddharth Anand spectacle, with high-octane action, romance, and thrilling sequences, ‘King’ is scheduled to commence shooting on May 18 in Mumbai. The makers are targeting a theatrical rollout in the final quarter of 2026. For Arshad, ‘King’ marks another high-profile addition to his lineup. The Bollywood actor, best known for playing Circuit in Sanjay Dutt’s ‘Munna Bhai’ film franchise, is currently shooting for Indra Kumar’s ‘Dhamaal 4’. He will next be seen alongside Akshay Kumar in the much-awaited ‘Jolly LLB 3’ and also has ‘Welcome to the Jungle’, ‘Jeevan Bheema Yojana’, and ‘Pritam Pedro’ slated ahead.
