Fatima Sana Shaikh has added another exciting project to her upcoming lineup, which already looks lucrative with three diverse films and a web series. PeepingMoon.com has learned that Shaikh has now signed on to headline National Award-winning filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar’s next theatrical drama.

Shaikh, renowned for her spectacular performances in ‘Dangal,’ ‘Ludo,’ ‘Thar,’ and ‘Sam Bahadur,’ will play the role of a Bollywood star’s wife in Bhandarkar's showbiz drama ‘Wives of Bollywood.’ He is assembling an ensemble cast and Shaikh is among the first prominent actors to come on board. Discussions with other actors are at various stages of negotiation. The film goes on the floors in August for a theatrical release in early 2026.

First announced in October 2024, ‘Wives of Bollywood’ is an explosive thriller drama on the unseen glamorous lives that the Bollywood star-wives lead. It will be sprinkled with scandal, gossip, and power struggles true to Bhandarkar's brand of cinema in critically-acclaimed and commercially-successful films like ‘Chandni Bar,’ ‘Page 3,’ ‘Fashion,’ and ‘Heroine’. This film promises to be another hard-hitting, socially-relevant film, offering a bold commentary on the social life of Bollywood. Bhandarkar and Pranav Jain are producing it under their respective banners, Bhandarkar Entertainment and PJ Motion Pictures.

In addition to ‘Wives of Bollywood,’ Shaikh will be seen in Anurag Basu's ensemble-cast anthology, ‘Metro… In Dino,’ slated to release on July 4, and Manish Malhotra's maiden production, ‘Gustaakh Ishq,’ co-starring Naseeruddin Shah, Vijay Varma, and Sharib Hashmi. She will also feature in Netflix India’s romantic comedy, ‘Aap Jaisa Koi,’ opposite R. Madhavan, and Applause Entertainment’s ‘Nyaya,’ which marks her web series debut.
