Actress Erica Fernandes who made her acting debut with the regional films (Ninnindale in Kannada and Galipatam Telugu - both 2014) and then went on to feature in popular serial, Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi is all set to make a history with her version of Prerna in Ekta Kapoor’s Kasauti Zindagi Kay reboot.

Recently, while talking to PeepingMoon.com, Erica opened up about her dream cum true moment, comparison with Shweta Tiwari and many more…

Excerpts:

The moment you gave a look test for Balaji Telefilms, rumours were rife that you being considered for KZK; however you always denied it!

Honestly, few months back, I did auditioned for Balaji Telefilms, but it was for some another project. Yes, at that time, I was questioned by a lot of media people about Kasautii Zindagi Kay, but honestly, I wasn’t aware about it. I did a few more mock tests which Ekta mam saw them later. And then, one fine day, I got to know that she liked me and has considered me as Prerna for her sequel. It was like a 'dream come true' moment for me.

There will be a lot of expectation from the audience; however, there is no pressure. Shweta mam was yesterday’s Prerna and I am today’s Prerna.

What made you to choose the iconic role of Prerna?

KZK is basically an epic saga and this sequel is being made for a new generation but with the same essence. This is something which interested me because bring back the same with some moulding in it a different way is quite challenging. And I would love to be a part of this challenge (smiles).

Shweta Tiwari who earlier played Prerna had become quite popular; are you ready for the comparison?

KZK was a big show then and of course there will be a comparison between the old and new version. There will be a lot of expectation from the audience; however, there is no pressure. Shweta mam was yesterday’s Prerna and I am today’s Prerna. And I am just hoping that people accept the way I portray the character of Prerna; I am really excited for this journey.

I did watch KZK as a kid and who knew that one day I would get a chance to play Prerna on-screen?

Does it make you nervous too?

No…In fact, more than nervous, I am excited. It is a huge show and from my end, I will try my level best to live up to the expectations.

Did you ever watch Kasautti Zindagi Kay?

Yes, I did watch KZK as a kid and who knew that one day I would get a chance to play Prerna on-screen? It’s a privilege to play this role and be a part of such a big project.

Lastly, any message to your fans…

I just want to thank all my fans for showering their blessings on me…they have supported me throughout my journey and I want to just tell them that I will give my best to make KZK a memorable show for them. Need their support for this new journey too (smiles).
