There's nervousness and bit of pressure: Erica Fernandes on playing Prerna in Kasautii Zindagii Kay

Finally, after a long wait, the audience will get to watch the reboot version of Ekta Kapoor’s iconic love saga, Kasautii Zindagii Kay from tonight (September 25, 2018). Actors Erica Fernandes and Parth Samthaan will be seen essaying the twisted love saga of Anurag and Prerna. Superstar Shah Rukh Khan has been unveiled back to back three promos of the show and each one has ticked all the right boxes.

In an interaction with PeepingMoon.com, Erica Fernandes, the new age Prerna, shared that she used to watch Kasautii as a kid. “I was a kid when Kasautii used to air on TV and I remember watching the show with my parents. Though I don’t remember all the episodes, but yes I used to love Prerna at that moment. Imagine, today I am playing the iconic character of Prerna; what more could I have asked for? It’s like a dream-come-true for me,” shared the exuberant actress, as her show premier's from tonight on TV.

Since the previous version was a superhit, is Erica nervous about viewers’ expectations? After a long pause, she replied, “Not very, but yes a little bit since it is not a new character that I am playing. It’s a character that has already been played and established and loved by so many people so to be playing something like that yes, there is nervousness and a little bit of pressure. But at the same time, it’s a challenge for me and I really like challenges (smiles).”

While interacting, the actress also opened up about the comparison between the old Prerna (Shweta Tiwari) and the new one. “See, obviously comparison is going to happen and I am ready for it. At this moment, all I can say is that I am going to give my best and I am also going to give my own touch to it and it’s going to be altogether a different Prerna that I am going to play.”

So, did Erica get a chance to meet Shweta Tiwari for the guidance or talk about the new version of the show? “No…not yet! I wish to meet her someday and talk about the show, the former and new Prerna and other things. I hope to meet her soon.”

Talking about her chemistry with co-star Parth Samthaan, the actress further added, “See, right now, we haven’t reached to that point in terms of chemistry or equation. Otherwise, when it comes to comfort…we have a really very good rapport with each other and so far, the experience of shooting with him was awesome. I have never met him before this show and so I was also looking forward to working with him.”
