Rohit Shetty is back on our television screens with the adrenaline-pumping show Khatron Ke Khiladi 12. The stunt based reality show has a bevy of TV celebs, influencers and choreographers testing their fearlessness and daredevilry in heart-stopping tasks. In an exclusive interview with PeepingMoon, Rohit spoke about how safety is of utmost importance in the show and the thin line between courage and fearlessness.
When Rohit was asked the one most important factor about the show and what he likes the most about Khatron Ke Khiladi, the filmmaker said, “The most important thing is safety. This is the only genre where safety is of utmost importance and accidents can happen. So how you prep yourself and how you prep your contestants because they are not stunt people and you have to make them do something that they are not prepared for. So it is difficult and you have to have your expertise in that that you are making someone do for the first time, that too its real, it’s not scripted or CGI. You have to take care of their health and ensure that there is no injury so it’s a challenge but what I like about the show.”
Rohit was also asked which is more important in acing a stunt in KKK – courage or fearlessness. To this, the director and host said, “Courage and fearlessness go hand-in-hand. Having courage to do something is important but being fearless in stupid situations is not right so you need to have than calm and you need to have that calculation that these are the things that can go wrong and in that you can’t be fearless. Being courageous is absolutely fine but when stunts are concerned you cannot be fearless, you need to have that fear and when you have that fear that is the time you see to the safety and ensure nothing goes wrong. So fear is very important when action is concerned.”
