Hindustan’s Most Stylish Award took place last night. Now when we say ‘style’, what’s the first thing that pops into your mind? A whole lot of glam mixed with high-fashion? Yes, that’s exactly what we’d expected at last night’s event. Considering last year’s Lux Golden Rose Awards and Filmfare was an absolute hit, sartorially, our expectation from the most stylish night of the year was pretty high. So when we spot our favorite stars wearing outfits which raise eyebrows, we were more than shocked! While a few, we mean barely few, ensured their looks were completely on-point, others gave us a sartorial show of the good, the absurd and the downright hideous.
Make way for a night you will always remember!
Shama Sikander
We’re all for daring to be bold and different on the red carpet, but this look is simply confusing and way too much. With yellow being the color of the season, we were more than expecting our A-listers to don this hue, but, it’s always about drawing that thin teeny-tiny line, even while pushing the fashion envelope. Be it the zippered Hervé Léger body-con dress or the loud voluminous curls and even the bright lip shade, it was all a bit too much!
Sonakshi Sinha
It’s rare that this glamazon makes a fashion misstep, but something about this outfit doesn’t quite fit the bill. Styled by A-list fashion guru- Mohit Rai, Sonakshi was clad in a Nikhil Thampi outfit. It’s not like we’ve never seen Miss Sinha channel her boss lady vibes, but this shiny power suit isn’t really working for us. The flared 70’s trousers and cape jacket is a complete steal, but the shimmery sequins top? Not so much!
Varun Dhawan
One cannot mention Sonakshi Sinha, without talking about the good-looking hunk, Mr. Varun Dhawan. The actor who was busy twinning with the Dabangg actress, clearly got the wrong memo. Varun, what were you even thinking?
Hina Khan
The Big Boss 11 contestant who was applauded for her on-point style inside the Big Boss house, thanks to stylist Hemlata Periwal, left our fashion police completely flabbergasted. Now if Hina was attending a Halloween themed party, she’d score the highest, in fact, win some extra brownie points for this attire, but this little number by Alpana Neeraj is completely a miss! From the dramatic puffy sleeves to the golden and silver metallic shine, we clearly fail to understand what Hemlata was thinking! Maybe the diva could have turned it down a notch with her lip color, considering there was already so much going on! Fashion disaster or not, we have to give it to Hina for strutting down the red carpet with a whole lot of confidence!
Sridevi
Disco fever has hit the town! The evergreen actress who made a strong case for stepping out in our sparkly ensembles, at Umang, took the bling trend a tad too far! Sridevi, who was seen in sequin separates from Temperley London, pretty much-outshined everyone, in a not so good way! We’re hoping that this fashion icon gets off the sparkly bandwagon. What do you think?
Richa Chadha
Styled by Anisha Gandhi and clad in a cleavage-baring thigh-high risqué gown by Chrystelle Atallah, we have only one word for Richa and her stylist – WHY?
Kiara Advani
It was clearly Manish Malhotra's night. We saw a slew of A-listers step out in this ace designers outfits, and Kiara Advani wasn't far behind! The diva who was clearly enjoying her wings (CC: her Insta handle) failed to impress us on the red carpet!
Taapasee Pannu
The girl-next-door actress who had given us a serious case of sartorial envy all through 2017, clearly missed the mark at this event. It's no secret that power suits are having a moment, and we applaud this diva for giving it a try by adding her own quirky spin. But too much of anything is always a No! No! And that's clearly what's going wrong in Taapasee's case!
