It won’t be wrong to say that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was perhaps the one to take Bollywood to Cannes as she clocks her 17th year this time at the international film festival. At the coveted Cannes red carpet, our original Cannes Queen has never failed to impress us with our sartorial choices as she attends the Festival de Cannes as a brand ambassador for L’Oreal Paris.

While she looked just out of a fairytale with her cinderella powder-blue gown last year, she did manage to take her fashion choices a notch higher this year. Be it the ‘butterfly’ inspired gown by Michael Cinco for her first red carpet appearance or the stunning powder blue gown by Rami Kadi, Aishwarya was certainly dressed to kill with an array of designer outfits.

With just five super-glam attires, Aishwarya left us gasping for breath. Let’s take a look:

FEMININE 

Aishwarya kick-started her journey by attending a press call in the French Riviera. Dressed in an Aztec print off-shoulder dress by designer Manish Arora, her ensemble with a pop of pink and purple made her look gorgeous as ever. METAMORPHOSIS OF A BUTTERFLY 

For her first red carpet appearance at Cannes this year, Aishwarya was clad in a dramatic ‘butterfly’ gown designed by Dubai-based designer Michael Cinco. Her ensemble, covered in Swarovski crystals and French palettes, consisted of ultra-violet, midnight blue, and red thread works with a 3-meter long train. Aish rounded off her look with sleek hair, smokey eyes and crimson lips. And oh boy, she looked stunning.

SUIT IT UP

After blowing everyone’s mind with her maiden red carpet appearance this year, Aishwarya opted for a sleek Giorgio Armani black-pant suit and made our jaws drop with her power-dressing. Completing her look with Racine Carrée heels and a Jimmy Choo clutch, she looked ultra-hot in smoky-eyes with her hair tied back in a middle parting. Femme Fatale in black, indeed.

COLOR PLAY

For her day 2 at Cannes, the actress opted for a white shirt and a dark blue high-waisted skirt but added the much-needed pop of colour with a heavily sequined orange jacket by Manish Arora. She rounded off her look with gold strappy heels and let her hair loose with soft curls. All hail the Cannes Queen.

SOFT and dramatic

For her second and final look at the red carpet, Aishwarya chose a powder blue gown by renowned designer Rami Kadi. The actress sizzled as she rounded off her look with matte pink lips, silver and nude eyes, and a dramatic mascara. But what caught everyone’s attention was her hair, which was tied in a fashionable yet dramatic bun although she kept her accessories minimalistic.

14th consecutive appearance and from Aishwarya Rai to Mrs Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, her sartorial game in on fleek.

Well, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is a born stunner. Period.
