Over the years, Masaba Gupta has become a name to reckon with in the Indian fashion circuit. The celebrity fashion designer, known for her quirky prints, is also a favourite amongst the B-towners. But apart from her creative aesthetics, she is also a firebrand when it comes to voicing her opinions with candour (her social media posts are enough proof).
Bestowed with unconventional looks, it was only last year that Masaba revealed on Instagram that how she has suffered from terrible acne and weight problems for over 14 years and the way it has affected her as a person. While a lot of people supported her, there were others who trolled her too by saying that acne isn’t such a big deal.
But recently the ace designer took to Instagram to post a picture of herself in a black bodysuit and we are totally in awe of her toned body.

Speaking to a leading daily, Masaba mentioned how she has finally accepted her ‘unconventional looks’ and teaches a lesson to everyone out there that it is okay to feel hurt. “The problem is we don’t know who defined conventional and unconventional and often don’t know the difference”, she added.

She reminisces the older and simpler times when everyone didn’t have the pressure to put up photographs on their social media pages. Masaba further gives internet trolls a dressing-down by saying that “one is shamed publicly everywhere by faceless aggressors, who launch their attacks while hiding behind a screen.”

Talking on how she battles body shaming on a daily basis but has learnt to keep the trolls from getting under her skin, she advises everyone to practice confidence, self-esteem and self-love in order to face the world with dignity and pride. “Society will throw a hundred things at you, so all you can really do is accept who you are. And, do it publicly. You should remember that your body will eventually be weakened by the ravages of time. At that time, you’re going to need to fall back on self-love, so start practicing it now.” stated the designer.
Further talking about her recent photoshoot, she said, “I know that some people will look at the pictures and say ‘why the hell is she in a bodysuit and wearing bronzer?’ but it doesn’t bother me. This is about me and my rather public declaration of self-love.” She also guided everyone on how people should not deny their feelings and accept the flaws in their body and skin. Masaba concluded by saying that one should always stand up against the trolls and “always fight back if one isn’t being treated fairly.”
