One year of Kay Beauty: Embracing the inner beauty to empowering women, here’s how Katrina Kaif’s makeup line proves ‘It’s Kay To be You’


Katrina Kaif started a new chapter of her professional journey as an entrepreneur when she launched her exclusive makeup label, Kay Beauty, a year back on October 22, 2019. The first products launched were Matteinee Lip Crayons, Matte Action Lip Liners, Maestrobe Metallic Lip Toppers, Kohl Star 24 Hour Kajal, Ink Artist Gel Kajal, High Drama Smokey Kajal and the Brow Studio Eyebrow Definer Pencil. They received raving reviews from beauty experts and influencers for being high glamour products which are rich in skin-nourishing ingredients and for being budget-friendly.

The superstar launched the beauty line to reach out to women and let them know that Its kay to be you. It is a brand that is a reflection of who the actress really is. What lies at the core of the foundation of Kay Beauty is the goal to crush the stereotypes attached to vanity and the standard definition of beauty. The brand came up with a campaign called Its Kay To be You which talked about embracing oneself and their flaws. The campaign video featured Katrina along with some of the most influential faces from multiple backgrounds such as badminton Saina Nehwal, South star Nayanthara, influencer Kusha Kapila and rapper Raja Kumari, among others.

With #Kare, a charity initiative associated with Kay Beauty, Katrina teamed up with Dehaat Foundation, an NGO dedicated to working towards empowering women in rural India. The actor, who has been actively been involved in community service, came up with the social initiative under which every lip product bought from Kay Beauty will be accompanied by a pencil which has been crafted and is the livelihood of the underprivileged women who DeHaat is supporting.
