Celebrations are in order at the tinsel town as Bollywood’s surreal beauty, Dia Mirza turns 39 today. She stole our hearts away with her debut film Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein and we have been tripping over her ever since. Even though she made her presence felt in the industry with films like Dus, Tumsa Nahin Dekha, Tumko Na Bhool Paayege, Deewaanapan, Lage Raho Munnabhai and Sanju; it was her recent web series Kaafir and Anubhav Sinha’s Thappad that garnered her some critical appreciation.
But when she is not swooning us over on the silver screen, she is busy fighting for the climate and environment as a true-blue eco-warrior. This actress and the UN Environment’s Goodwill Ambassador for India has been practicing and preaching sustainability for as long as we can remember. One has often seen this beaut repeating her outfits and promoting sustainable labels for a bigger cause. Ditching jazz and industrial wastage for organic and homegrown labels, Dia is doing her bit for the planet. Let’s face it, in the fashion world full of shimmers and OTT ensembles, Mirza’s elegant and sustainable outfits are certainly a breath of fresh air!
