After a yearlong hiatus, fashion indeed made a remarkable comeback in the form of Paris’s Haute Couture Fashion Week. The Spring/ Summer 21 unleashed oodles of drama with a dose of escapism from the pandemic-stricken world. From Kim Jones’ Fendi debut to Chanel’s extravagant party-themed runway and Armani Prive’s blossoming flowers, this season’s runway had a lot to offer.
However, there were some raging trends that caught our attention. From bright colours to pretty ensembles, here are the five trends that made the right noise:
POWER COUTURE
Gone are the days when people would hide their bodies under layers of fabrics. This couture week emphasized on bodies rather than clothes. Voluminous ball gowns and long trains were replaced with silk shirts and blown-out ballerina skirts while curve accentuating gowns bore abs-like structured corsets with a touch of dramatic bows.
HAUTE PINKS
No Haute Couture Fashion Week would be complete without its gigantic pink gowns. Giambattista Valli, Schiaparelli and Armani Privé unleashed the colour of romance on the runway in the form of ruffle and tulle dresses and the hottest talk of the town- earring gown!
SUIT SILHOUETTES
Haute couture is just not about trailblazing gowns and labels like Chanel and Valentino vouched for this very fact. This season, the runway witnessed power suits in an array of ensembles. Another reason to make them a wardrobe staple!
PLATFORM HEELS
We witnessed towering platform heels once again in Valentino’s and Schiaparelli’s collection. Will exaggerated platform heels make a comeback after all?
STATEMENT OVERSIZED EARRINGS
Oversized earrings were quite a hit this season and we don’t see why not. From Fendi’s drop danglers to Schiaparelli’s abstract, gold pieces, XL earrings were a glamorous treat to behold.
