Love is in the air and so are the wedding shenanigans! On November 15, lovebirds Rajkummar Rao and Patralekhaa Paul solidified their commitment to each other after dating for 11 years. The couple tied the knot in a dreamy ceremony at Chandigarh’s The Oberoi Sukhvilas Spa Resort with only a selected few in attendance. While the open skies, the dreamy décor and the pleasant climate of the venue managed to make this whole affair a magical one, what really took the cake was the duo’s subtle, minimalistic yet meaningful and statement-making wedding trousseau.
From Patra’s chic yet ravishing engagement gown to simply gorgeous Sabyasachi sarees, everything about her looks was just perfect. Being the dapper man that he is, Rajkummar too, complemented his better half with minimalistic yet modish ensembles. Check out the couple’s wedding look book:
ENGAGEMENT
Keeping the theme of her engagement a classy-cocktail one, the bride opted for a crystal-embellished, soothing white gown from label Jade by Monica & Karishma. Her strapless blingy gown bore a feisty thigh slit that gave us a peek at her toned legs. Adding to the bling affair of her look was the crystal-embedded serpentine necklace while those classy pumps gave a nice finishing touch. In the makeup department, the actress dialed down the drama b opting a subtle glam with a striking maroon pout and styled her locks in a messy bun. Raj opted for a classy white kurta set for the festivities.
WEDDING
For the D-day, the duo took an elegant route in Sabyasachi trousseaus. Skipping the 20kgs lehenga, Patralekha was a vision to behold draped in a red tulle embroidered buti sari paired with an embroidered veil. If that wasn’t enough to melt our hearts and moist our eyes, the bride added a personal touch to her wedding outfit by inscribing a Bengali verse on the border of the veil, penned by couturier Sabyasachi Mukherjee that translated to, “I surrender to you, my love-filled heart.’ Gosh!
For the blings, the actress chose to pair her stunning saree with a handcrafted neckpiece, matha patti, jhumkis, kadas and a statement nath in 22k gold with uncut diamonds, pearls and emeralds from Sabya’s heritage jewel archival. On the glam front, Patra opted for a subtle glam driving all the attention to the traditional kolka design done by the Bengali brides. A gajra-adorned bun gave her bridal look an elegant finishing touch.
Groom Rajkummar, looked dapper in an embroidered raw silk ivory jacket featuring gold plated Bengal tiger buttons and churidar from label Sabyasachi. He paired his outfit with a Bangalore silk kurta and accessorized his wedding look with handcrafted Sabyasachi Heritage Jewellery in strands of cultured Japanese pearls. The red sehra totally added the desi wedding feels!
RECEPTION
For the reception, the bride wore a traditional silk Sabyasachi saree in off-white hues and layered it with an intricately detailed pashmina. Keeping her look elegant she styled her reception drape with a heavy statement neckpiece and earrings from the designer’s jewellery collection. Ditching the quintessential, OTT route, the stunner kept her glam understated with soft shimmery lids, nude lips and an elegant bindi. The centre-parted floral bun added a classic charm to her look. Complementing his ladylove, Raj looked suave in a fancy black 3-piece suit paired with a crisp white shirt and a bow tie.
Congratulations, you two! Here’s raising a toast to a fun-filled life and fashionable moments…
