Deepika Padukone’s ‘Saubhagyavati Bhava’ to Patralekhaa’s Bengali verse, B-town’s brides-n-grooms with special messages etched on their wedding outfits

Love is in the air indeed as B-town’s one of the most adored couples of 11 years, Rajkummar Rao and Patralekhaa tied the knot in a dreamy ceremony at Chandigarh's The Oberoi Sukhvilas Spa Resort on Monday, November 15. With just a few friends and family in attendance, the couple embarked on the journey of happily ever after in the dreamiest way possible!

For her big day, Patra ditched the quintessential heavy lehenga and opted for a stunning red tulle embroidered buti sari paired with an embroidered veil, from the shelves of Sabyasachi. If that wasn’t enough to melt our hearts and moist our eyes, the bride added a personal touch to her wedding outfit by inscribing a Bengali verse on the border of the veil, penned by couturier Sabyasachi Mukherjee.

The verse on the wedding veil read "Aamar poran bhora bhalobasha aami tomaye shomporno korilam, that loosely translated to, “I surrender to you, my love-filled heart. Heartwarming, indeed!

However, Patralekhaa isn’t the first Bollywood Sabya bride to have a verse inscribed on her trousseau and by the looks of where this trend is going, she certainly won’t be the last! Prior to this, many other Bollywood brides and grooms etched the term forever with their meaningful wedding outfits. Take a look:

DEEPIKA PADUKONE

Deepika’s wedding trousseau made trends for all the right reasons and her inscribed veil was one of them. For her wedding to actor Ranveer Singh, the actress made for a vision in a stunning red Sabyasachi lehenga and heritage jewels but what took the cake was her veil incorporated with the verse ‘Sada Saubhagyavati Bhava’ on it that translates to, ‘may you always be lucky as a married woman.’

PRIYANKA CHOPRA JONAS

Infusing the sentimental value in her wedding outfits, Priyanka’s Christian wedding gown has eight meaningful messages which included the full name of her husband- Nicholas Jerry Jonas, the date of her wedding- December 1, 2018, the names of her parents- Madhu & Ashok, blessings of the almighty- Om Namah Shivay, along with virtues like ‘Family, Hope, Compassion, Love.’

Not just this, Hindu wedding trousseau was also customized to her choice. Her Kanauj-Rose Sabyasachi lehenga bore the names of her parents and husband her lehenga skirt.

KARAN BOOLANI

After dating for 12 years, Karan married the sweetheart, Rhea Kapoor in an intimate ceremony hosted at Anil Kapoor’s Juhu bungalow. Just like the wedding, the trousseau of both bride and grooms were customized with special messages. Karan’s Kunal Rawal beige bandhgala had their names and wedding dates inscribed on it.

As they say, it’s all in the details!
