Doubling up the stakes, Day 2 at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre a.k.a NMACC was no less than a star-studded affair as celebrities graced the pink carpet of the soiree in their dressy best. Articulately curated by Hamish Bowels and designed by Roohshad Shroff and Patrick Kinmonth, ‘India In Fashion’ exhibition showcases a little over 140 stunning pieces of India-inspired costumes, narrating a story of the country's impact, contribution and representation in fashion’s history.

With the theme of the night being inspired by India, celebrities from Hollywood as well as Bollywood brought forth their own interpretation of cultural dressing, but not without a modern twist. Dramatic saree-inspired couture to flowy gowns and sharply tailored suits to regal sherwanis-here are some TOP fashion moments from the gala:

SONAM KAPOOR AHUJA

Fitting to the theme of the gala, Sonam picked a stunning piece almost equivalent to vintage art from Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla’s creation. This archival piece was made from 20 unique individual panels spanning 35 years of the duo’s design history. Embroidered with panels in zardozi and mogul motifs, the lehenga skirt was teamed with a Swarovski corset and finished with a silk tissue throw hand embroidered in gold and silver work.

Alia channelled her inner Venus dressed in an Elie Saab haute couture. Her crystal-embellished gown came with a choker cape detailing that added to the glamour of the overall look.

PRIYANKA CHOPRA JONAS

Priyanka oozed glamour in a sixty-year-old vintage Banarasi brocade saree made using silver threads and gold electroplating on khadi silk. Her vintage saree gown was teamed with a sequin sheet holographic bustier to reflect the nine colours of ikat weave. WOW!
