Delightful designer Rahul Mishra was the chosen one for the House of Lakm Grand Finale that ended the five-day Lakm Fashion Week x FDCI at Jio World Convention Centre. Sculpt was what he called his Fall-Winter 2024 line from his global luxury ready-to-wear label AFEW.

Actor Ananya Panday, Lakm's brand ambassador, was the shining showstopper, dressed in a 3D-embroidered Athenian Garden achromatic short dress, the surface meticulously hand-embroidered and further embellished with hand-cut and appliquéd motifs placed on a silk base. And her beauty look was sculpted with a focus on the under-brow and eyes as also the cheekbones.

It was a fashionable ode to nature, ranging from the majestic mountains to the symmetry of snowflakes, the waves of sand dunes and the arresting features of the human face. The opening look on Ayesha Kanga was a rendition of life breaking free from a solid block of stone, embellished with glimmering white sequins and complemented with achromatic natural forms.

The show’s set was inspired from a sculptor’s workshop featuring iconic abstract works of art created by local student artists. And it’s nice to note that the muslin fabric draped at the backdrop will be utilised for creating test garments at the Rahul Mishra ateliers.
