Kangana Ranaut is a Queen in the truest sense of the word – not just on screen but off it as well as she is capable of managing her career graph in a spectacular manner and doesn’t require a ‘Godfather’ to prove her mettle in the industry. It’s her birthday today and indeed, 2019 has been special for Kangana as she witnessed success like never before. Why? Because, Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi. The film was a grand success and it's special because Kangana not only starred in it but also directed it. Hence, might we assert that Manikarnika's victory means a lot more to her. Her ambitious project Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi, that cast her in the titular role, opened to positive reviews in January and above that, also recorded the highest single day collections for a female-oriented film. Kangana was the hero of Manikarnika and led the film on her shoulders with a group of other actors including Ankita Lokhande and Mishti. Apart from the box office numbers, Rangoli also posted the various investments and returns that Manikarnika has benefited from. It is, indeed, great to note that Kangana’s Manikarnika – a completely female oriented film collected over Rs 100 crore at the box office – a record in itself. Manikarnika, in fact, did not earn at the box office solely but earned from other mediums as well. Made at a budget of Rs 79 crore, Manikarnika’s digital rights were sold at Rs 40 crore, satellite rights at Rs 20 crore and distribution rights at Rs 61 crore. Kangana stepped into Krish’s shoes as the director after he departed the project due to what has been blamed on scheduling conflicts and creative differences. During interviews, Kangana emphatically expressed her point while her direction skills also garnered much acclaim. Kangana Ranaut made her debut in Bollywood with Gangster in 2006 and subsequently starred in the films Woh Lamhe, Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai, Tanu Weds Manu, Queen, Krrish 3, Tanu Weds Manu Returns, Rangoon and Simran.
