The trailer of Sushant Singh Rajput's last film Dil Bechara starring Sanjana Sanghi with him has been unveiled. Dil Bechara is the directorial debut of casting director Mukesh Chhabra who selected Sushant for his first film Kai Po Che!
Dil Bechara is the Hindi adaptation of Hollywood film The Fault In Our Stars that was based on John Green's novel of the same name. Watching the trailer of Dil Bechara was a painful experience because Sushant's untimely passing is so fresh in our hearts. Nevertheless, the actor is flawless and the film promises to be a great watch but will definitely be a tearjerker. Here are the key takeaways that we liked about the trailer which was ironically mouthed by Sushant.
I am a fighter
Sushant plays a man who has survived cancer in the film. He had osteosarcoma. However, he says in his own words, 'I'm a fighter' and that's one of the biggest takeaways of the trailer. His character Manny has got over his illness but has lost a leg in the process, and is out to live life to the fullest , because as they say- Kal Ho Na Ho.
Seri-Our word
Sushant gives us a Tamil word, 'Seri' that means okay, in the trailer, which we're sure will become the new normal and will be mouthed by everyone now. If only, we had the power to tell this to the actor about whatever struggles he was going through.
Ek tha Raja, ek thi Rani, dono marr gaye khatam kahani, yeh kahani adhoori hai
Sushant's character comes across as the one who doesn't lose hope. He is hell-bent on forging a new future for his character Manny and Sanjana's Kizie, even though he knows that she has a fatal disease that might take her life. Even though he plays an amputee, his exuberance and zest for life is infectious.
Love Makes our life OK
It's love that makes the world go around. This adage is proven once again in Dil Bechara's trailer. Sushant's character brings new hope in Sanjana's life and it is he who lends her the zeal to live. He tries to fulfill her dream of going to Paris.
We don't get to decide when we're born and when we die
Ironically, this pearl of wisdom is shared by Sushant, maybe for his countless fans who must be shedding tears after watching this trailer and thinking why did he have to go so soon.
We do get to decide how we live our life
Sushant was that rare actor whose life did not reveal around the arc lights and Friday screenings. He was so much more than a mere actor. He was a voracious reader, an ambidextrous archer and player. He could strum a guitar with both hands, could give discourses on quantum physics, astrophysics and astronomy. His most prized possession was not a luxury car but his telescope and had an artificial intelligence company to his name. An engineering dropout who secured 7th rank in AIEEE and won the Physics Olympiad while in school, he was not your regular guy and in only 34 years he lived and accomplished things that we will not be able to do in our entire lives. No wonder, he tells us that we don't know when and how we die but we do get to decide how we lead our lives. In the trailer he is the one who captivates your heart with his charming smile and his uninhibited energy that is almost infectious.
Sushant Singh Rajput-the impeccable actor
Once again the actor proved his mettle in acting. Sushant's smile lights up the screen. He is the one who holds the trailer together and rightly so as he was the more experienced one. He showcases his love for Shah Rukh Khan as well, as you can see him mimic the superstar when he is trying to please Sanjana. His comic timing is also impeccable. Seeing him crack jokes, one could envision what a great job he could have done in a comedy film.
Dil Bechara will be streaming on Disney+Hotstar from July 24 and we're sure everyone will say the same thing that Sushant is an actor gone way too soon. Dil Bechara is not only the title of his last film but will also signify the condition of his fans after they watch him for the last time in it.
