Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna's son Aarav Bhatia turned 18 today. The young lad who is a mirror reflection of his parents, though absent from the media gaze, has managed to become the talking point in the past few years. The 6' feet tall Aarav, who has a charming smile like his superstar father Akshay, is indeed social media's darling. In the last one year, Aarav, ending his social appearance hiatus, has stepped out numerous times to be papped by the omnipresent Mumbai paparazzi. While his pictures manage to delight people, the statements made by his parents prove that he is a seeker of perfection, a disciple of hard-work and a fun-loving youngster.
As his Bollywood debut seems to be a question that is yet to be answered, Aarav, it seems, is a tough critic of father Akshay's films. During an interview with a publication, the Bollywood superstar went on to reveal that Aarav reviews his films and gives his take. Akshay told, "He watched Mission Mangal and he said, ‘dad, I loved it’. But when he saw Housefull 4, he was like, ‘it was okay dad."

After mentioning that Aarav is only interested in studies, Akshay, during his episode of Into The Wild With Bear Grylls, told that his handsome son wants to have his own identity and not be known as Akshay Kumar's son. "My son is very different. I mean, he just doesn't want to tell anyone that he's my son. He wants to be away from the limelight. He wants to have his own identity. That's what the whole thing and I understand it. So, I let him be the way he wants to," the 53-year-old superstar told.
In a philosophical way of parenting, Akshay has maintained his stand that there is no need to pressurise him to discuss career. Putting forth his point clearly when Aarav was 16, Akshay told a leading publication, "He is just a 16-year-old kid, who is enjoying his life. There’s no need to discuss his career right now and put pressure on him. I feel that [kids feeling pressure] will happen only if the parents – in a way – put some kind of burden. I am very clear that whether my kids want to become a painter, doctor or open a restaurant, I am fine. My dad never put any pressure on me. He was like, ‘if you’re interested in sports and karate; and want to be like Bruce Lee, go for it. But become at least half a Bruce Lee (laughs).’ Aaj wahi cheez kaam aayi na mere."
Showering love and affection on Aarav, Akshay, last year, wished him by saying, "One thing which I learnt from my father was if I ever mess up, he’d be my go-to person instead of ‘Oh no! Dad’s going to kill me.’ Today, being on your speed dial makes me feel I’m doing it right :) I’ll always be besides you to guide you. Happy birthday Aarav."
While Akshay has time and again spoken about Aarav being his best friend, Twinkle has unveiled his goofy side through Instagram posts. The actress, who is a proud mother, thanks to Aarav's culinary skills that he inherited from his father, shared a picture of the delicious-looking chocolate brownie cake with cherry compote made by Aarav. She wrote, "When I had a bun in the oven, I did not know I was going to push out a future baker. I produced him and seventeen years later he produced this Chocolate brownie cake with cherry compote. #ProudMomMoment."
Revealing that he has saved her number as Police, Twinkle shared a hilarious meme showcasing the fun bond she shares with him. "Considering my son has saved my number as ‘Police’ on his phone I suppose this is rather apt :)" she wrote.
Well, the picture shared with the caption, "My son crept up and took this picture today. The little one and I were meant to be studying and reading together when I have fallen asleep with a pencil in my hand! Is it just me going through this peculiar phase where everyday around 4pm the brain just fogs up? #IWillGetYouForThisBhatiaBoy," has a different fan-base!
Happy birthday, Aarav! We hope to see you soon on the silver screen.
