Remembering Shravan Rathod of Nadeem-Shravan fame's 'Aashiqui' with 15 melodious songs that became Bollywood's 'Dhadkan'

For over 1 year, the entire country is battling COVID-19. After flattening the curve in the latter half of 2020, India is currently witnessing the second wave of COVID-19. Amid this, Bollywood lost a gem to the deadly virus. Veteran music composer Shravan Kumar Rathod, of Nadeem-Shravan fame, succumbed to the complications caused due to COVID-19 at the age of 66. Being a diabetic, his lungs were said to be majorly affected. He is survived by his wife and son.

Known for Bollywood melodies in the '80s and '90s, Shravan knew how to weave magic in films with his music. Those who grew up in the '90s will understand how inseparable Nadeem-Shravan songs are in their lives and the film industry. From Aashiqui, Saajan, Deewana, Phool Aur Kaante to Raja Hindustani, Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin, Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke, Raja, Pardes, Dhadkan and Raaz, Nadeem and Shravan gave many leading actors their most memorable songs that can be cherished forever.

Shravan along with Nadeem frequently teamed up with renowned singers like Kumar Sanu, Alka Yagnik, Udit Narayan, Anuradha Paudwal, Kavita Krishnamurthy, Sadhana Sargam, K. S. Chithra, S. P. Balasubrahmanyam, Hariharan, Suresh Wadkar, Nitin Mukesh, Sonu Nigam, Shaan, Shankar Mahadevan and many others to execute some chartbuster songs.

The composer duo went on to win Filmfare Awards for Aashiqui, Saajan, Deewana and Raja Hindustani. Their last film before splitting was Dosti: Friends Forever in 2005. Later, in 2009, they reunited for David Dhawan's Do Knot Disturb.
