Neetu Kapoor's Geeta from Jug Jugg Jeeyo is changing the image of typical Bollywood on-screen 'maa'; here's why!

There is no doubt that Neetu Kapoor is the epitome of grace, beauty and talent. After a long break, the veteran actress is returning to the silver screen with Jug Jugg Jeeyo. She has been cast as Geeta. Neetu plays the role of Anil Kapoor's wife, Varun Dhawan's mother and Kiara Advani's mother-in-law.

While we are excited to watch Neetu back on the silver screen, her character Geeta appears to be different from the mundane Hindi cinema's 'maa'. As Jug Jugg Jeeyo is just a week away from its theatrical release, let's take a look at why Neetu's Geeta is unique and possibly the best on-screen 'maa'.

Wisdom

In several interviews, Varun and Kiara have spoken about Neetu's monologue in the film. While we are yet to watch the sequence, it can be assured that the veteran actress has used her experience and understanding of marriage to add gravitas.

A thread that ties the family together

As shown in the trailer, Neetu's character Geeta is the one who attempts to keep the family together. Though she is not aware of her husband Bheem's extramarital affair, she believes in the concept of happy marriage despite obstacles.

The heart of the family

Mother is always the heart of the family. Be it her multitasking skills or ability to manage the toughest members of the family, she knows how to do it effortlessly. Neetu's Geeta is just one of them and we simply adore it.

Friend > Mother

Judging from the trailer, Neetu's Geeta seems to be more of a friend to her children than a strict mother. Don't we all share the same relationship with our mothers?

Changing the dynamics of the saas-bahu relationship

It appears Neetu's Geeta shares a unique bond with Kiara's Naina. We cannot wait to see more of their relationship in Jug Jugg Jeeyo.

Jug Jugg Jeeyo, directed by Raj Mehta, will release on June 24.
