Sweet Dimple in Shershaah to crazy Suku in Govinda Naam Mera, tracking Kiara Advani's successful run as Dharma Productions' golden girl

In the year when even the biggest Bollywood stars struggled to make their films work at the box office, there was an actress who delivered not just one but two theatrical blockbusters and an OTT hit. She's none other than Kiara Advani. Having completed 8 years in the film industry, she was among those who brought the audience back to cinema halls amid a grim phase. All of this hasn't happened overnight. Kiara has been consistently working on her acting skills and growing immensely with every new project.

It won't be wrong to say that the IT girl of Bollywood has been Dharma Productions' current lucky charm. And vice-versa too. Kiara's debut film Fugly brought her into the limelight but it was M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story that brought her nationwide fame. After initial highs and lows, Kiara was locked for a short film in Netflix's Lust Stories by the man himself-Karan Johar. Playing the role of a sexually unsatisfied woman, she instantly drew people's attention toward her craft. Hereon, there's no stopping for her.

Taking her association with Dharma Productions ahead, Kiara did a special appearance in Kalank (2019) and set the dance on fire with her First Class performance. The year was indeed lucky for Kiara. She immortalised the character of Preeti in Kabir Singh. And of course, people still tend to call her Preeti. Kiara ended 2019 with Dharma Productions' Good Newwz. Needless to say, her charm worked wonders at the box office.

Just when OTT was on its way to becoming a rage, Kiara headlined the Netflix film, Guilty, produced by Dharma Productions' digital content wing- Dharmatic Entertainment. Only one release in 2021 was enough for Kiara to be the talk of the town. As Captain Vikram Batra's girlfriend Dimple in Dharma Productions' Shershaah, she won hearts with her innocent looks, effortless performance and crackling chemistry with Sidharth Malhotra. The era of Kiara continued and how.

Striking the right balance between OTT and theatres, she had three releases in 2022. The year for her began in May with the blockbuster, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, followed by Jug Jugg Jeeyo. The latter was produced by Karan again. As 2022 nears an end, Kiara closed the year with Govinda Naam Mera on Disney+Hotstar. She has been receiving rave reviews for her performance as Suku.

Kiara is the new queen, don't we all agree?
