Ram Charan is an Indian actor, producer and an entrepreneur who predominantly works in the Telugu film industry. Ram Charan who made his acting debut with Chirutha in 2007 has been part of several highly acclaimed movies like The Fighter, Magadheera, Racha, and Naayak.
Ram Charan Birth Date:
Ram Charan was born in Madras (now Chennai) in a Telugu family on on 27 March 1985. He received his education at the following institutions: St. Mary's College in Hyderabad; Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan in Chennai; Lawrence School in Lovedale; Hyderabad Public School in Begumpet; and so on. He also went to the Mumbai acting school run by Kishore Namit Kapoor. Vels University, Chennai awarded him an honorary doctorate in April 2024.
Ram Charan’s Family:
Ram Charan was born in a Telugu family to actor Chiranjeevi and his wife Surekha on 27 March 1985. His family hails from Mogalthur and Palakollu in the West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh. His maternal grandfather was the noted comic actor Allu Ramalingaiah. He has two siblings — an older sister Sushmitha and younger sister Sreeja.
Ram Personal Life:
In 2012, Ram Charan got married to Upasana Kamineni, chief editor of B Positive magazine and vice-chairman of Apollo Charity. On 20 June 2023, the couple had their first child, a daughter named Klin Kaara Konidela.
Ram Acting Career:
In 2007, Puri Jagannadh's Chirutha marked the beginning of Ram Charan's acting career in Telugu cinema. The film became a commercial success, and critics praised Ram Charan immensely for his performance. For the same film, the actor went on to win both the Filmfare Best South Debutant Award and the Nandi Special Jury Award.
After the success of Magadheera, Ram Charan, next appeared in Bommarillu Bhaskar`s Orange. Ram Charan made his Bollywood debut with the much hyped Zanjeer, which was the remake of the 1973 movie of the same name starring Amitabh Bachchan, did not perform well at the box-office. His other projects include Rangasthalam (2018), Vinaya Vidheya Rama (2019) and Syeraa Narasimha Reddy (2019). His other works are Vinaya Vidheya Rama (2019), Acharya (2020), the mega blockbuster RRR and RC-15 (2023).
In 2016, Charan founded Konidela Production firm, his own film production firm.Khaidi No. 150 (2017), his father Chiranjeevi's 150th film, is the first production from the studio.With a budget of 50 crore, the movie made over 164 crore at the box office.
Ram’s spiritual living:
Ram Charan takes part in the 41-days-long Ayyappa Deeksha (Vratham), which is done on a yearly basis in Sabarimala, Kerala.He started this practice in 2008. His father Chiranjeevi had inspired him in following the deeksha.
