Varun Dhawan comes under one of India's highest-paid actors, he has been featured in Forbes India's Celebrity 100 list since 2014. Son of well-known director David Dhawan, the young actor made a promising debut in Karan Johar`s 2012 film Student Of The Year along with his contemporaries Alia Bhatt and Sidharth Malhotra.

Varun Birth Date, Family and Education:

David Dhawan, a film director, and Karuna Dhawan welcomed Dhawan into the world on April 24th, 1987. His family is Hindu from Punjab. Anil is an actor, while his elder brother Rohit is a film director, well known for his first feature film Desi Boyz.

He graduated from the H.R. College of Commerce and Economics with an HSC. He graduated from Nottingham Trent University in the United Kingdom with a degree in business studies. He assisted Karan Johar as an assistant director on the 2010 movie My Name Is Khan before beginning his acting career.

Varun Movie Debut:

It was Varun's mother who urged him to pursue acting; he had never desired to be an actor. Upon enrolling in Barry John's acting program, he gained knowledge of all facets of filming. Dhawan made his acting debut in 2012 with Johar's teen film Student of the Year alongside Sidharth Malhotra and Alia Bhatt.

In 2014, he appeared in a lead role in Main Tera Hero directed by his father David Dhawan, romancing Illeana D`cruz and Nargis Fakhri. His career best performance came with his 2015 release Badlapur, directed by Sriram Raghavan.

In the year 2015, Varun Dhawan had two releases - ABCD 2 opposite Shraddha Kapoor, and Dilwale. In 2017, the actor featured opposite Alia Bhatt in the romantic comedy film Badrinath Ki Dulhania, which turned out to be a huge blockbuster hit. His 2018 release includes Sui Dhaaga - Made In India. His 2020 release includes Street Dancer 3, directed by Remo D`Souza and Coolie No 1 directed by David Dhawan. His other notable works include Jugjugg Jeeyo (2022), Bhediya (2022) and Bawaal (2023).

Varun Personal Life:

Dhawan wed fashion designer Natasha Dalal, his longtime lover, on January 24, 2021. The couple welcomed their first child, a baby girl on June 3rd 2024.

Varun Upcomin Projects:

Dhawan will next star in the action film Baby John, produced by Atlee, which will serve as a remake of Atlee's own Tamil film Theri (2016). He will then star in Citadel: Honey Bunny, the Indian spinoff of the American drama series Citadel, created by the Russo Brothers, and directed by Raj & DK, once again for Amazon Prime Video. Dhawan will continue his collaborations with Dharma Productions and reunite with Janhvi Kapoor in the romantic comedy Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari.
