When a girl has a superstar - who by happy coincidence is also the hero of the film - wrapped around her little finger, she can do just as she pleases. Yes that even includes taking a long nap, leaving the director and crew twiddling their thumbs for five full hours!

Precisely the scenario on the sets of this big-budget period action adventure! Apparently, it was the lead star’s soft spot for the actress that bagged her the film in the first place. He had made a strong case for her and managed to convince the production house that she would be the best fit for the part. The big-time producer, who generally has the final say on matters of casting, preferred to allow his leading man to have his way, to ensure a smooth filming process (snubbed superstars can make life very difficult!) and the lass was soon on board.

This raised eyebrows immediately, as the supposed romance between the married star and his special girl is already the talk of tinsel town.

The new development also raised hackles… With the new addition to the star cast, the other heroine started to feel distinctly side-lined. From being previously projected as the leading lady of the film, suddenly she was relegated to a supporting role. Naturally this hasn’t gone down well with her at all, but she also probably understands it is futile to fight for footage against the other actress, who is the clear favourite where our hero is concerned.

So off she sauntered to her vanity van, locked herself in, and didn’t emerge for five full hours! Her beauty sleep complete, she then deigned to get on with filming. Naturally, not a word was said to her about her callous conduct. Like we said, when you have the hero’s protection, life is a lark!
