The film’s team has been standing up for him but fact remains that it was this choreographer’s arrogance that even spoiled relations between the producer of an upcoming film and a much-loved veteran star.

When a hit number from the Eighties was being remade for the film, the bigwig producer had invited both the star and the choreographer who had created this popular dance number. He wanted them to come on set while the new version of the song was being picturised and give it their blessing; maybe even do a step or two for the cameras. However, when the current choreographer heard this, he threw a fit. Blame it on arrogance or insecurity, he refused to have them around. The producer had to make his apologies and cancel the plan.

When the song finally released, it garnered scathing criticism from all around. Eventually, it needed much persuasion from the harried producer to get the original choreographer to say a word or two of praise in favour of the song.

The veteran actress continued to maintain a stony silence. Who can blame her?!
