Pink rules! Kim Kardashian West lets slip gender of her third baby…

So, was it accidental? Given it’s Kim Kardashian West, is anything ever ‘accidental’? We do think, when the reality star spilled the beans about her upcoming baby’s gender on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’, she knew exactly the effect it would have on a populace hanging on for that most important detail – boy or girl!

Kim was discussing the recent baby shower that was held last weekend. “We had a baby shower over the weekend, and I thought, 'You know, I really do want to have a baby shower because I want her (older daughter, North) to feel that something’s coming and for her to really understand it.” “So people brought toys and gifts and she was opening them all up the next day. She said, ‘Mom, since baby sister’s not here, I think I need all of the toys in my room and I’ll play with them and just make sure they’re all okay for baby sister,” 37-year-old Kardashian West revealed.

At this point, host DeGeneres was quick to interject, “She's a toy tester ... and you just told us it's a girl!

Kim laughed off the disclosure, with an “Oh! I guess!

She added, “North is really excited about that. She's so excited. Let's see if it lasts. I did explain to her, 'Okay, at four in the morning, when you come in my room, I'm going to have to be with baby sister - I have to feed her.' We'll see how it goes.

Kim and Kanye West are also parents to their one-year-old son, Saint.

The couple is using a surrogate to have their third child, a fact Kim had announced in the trailer for Season 14 of her family's reality show, ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’. This decision is apparently due to a condition she discovered during her first pregnancy, called placenta accreta, in which the placenta is hard to remove after birth. She had given birth to her second child herself but decided that surrogacy was the best option when the couple was considering a third baby. Evidently, placenta accreta cannot be prevented, but diagnosed pregnant women can take certain precautions to ensure a safe birth.
Meanwhile, it’s gonna be a girl; bring out the pink champagne!
